Job Title: Millwright Apprentice
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Millwright Apprentice to join our team. This role involves hands-on work with machinery, including maintenance, assembly, and troubleshooting. It is an excellent opportunity for entry-level candidates to gain valuable experience and work towards becoming a licensed millwright.
Responsibilities
Regularly change drive chains, bearings, belts, and other parts of machinery.
Calibrate and set up new machinery for others to use.
Dismantle or discard any outdated equipment.
Assist with operating certain types of machinery.
Inspect equipment and test to ensure it runs safely and correctly.
Assemble machinery while following blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
Fabricate brackets and mounts to hold equipment safely.
Use welding and other skills to create parts of machinery.
Install electrical conduits or wiring to help machines run correctly.
Diagnose potential problems with machines and repair them.
Essential Skills
Construction and mechanical skills.
Mathematically inclined.
Attention to detail.
Assembly and general labor skills.
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
Mechanical troubleshooting.
Experience with oil changes, welding, blueprints, repair, and hydraulics.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High School Diploma.
Valid Driver's License.
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Work Environment
Millwright Union members work on a variety of construction projects, including industrial plants and commercial construction sites. You will work in various manufacturing plants, large-scale new construction buildings, ethanol and energy plants, etc. The standard hours are Monday to Friday, from 7 AM to 4 PM.
