SAIC Acquisition Systems Engineer in CHANTILLY, Virginia

Description

SAIC is seeking an Acquisition Systems Engineer to join our team in our Chantilly, VA office. This position provides specialized engineering, analysis and operations support to a variety of Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) customers. Our program supports the research and development of the generation after next of national security-related systems based in space, in the air and on the ground.

This Systems Engineer will work closely with a diverse team of engineers and scientist developing and implementing the future ground-based architecture. This position provides Systems Engineering discipline to an organization supporting the research and development of revolutionary ground-based systems. This position supports the development and execution of program activities acquiring cutting edge capabilities and prototypes.

Unique Duties:

  • Work with government technical and contracts staff developing acquisition strategies and acquisition documentation enabling program development and implementation

  • Work with government technical and contracts staff developing program acquisition packages

  • Support the review, vetting, and approval of acquisition documents such as an sole source justification, CDRLs, and Statement of Work (SOW)

  • Draft contractual documents for government contracts officer review and signature

  • Provide acquisition advisory services during technical and cost evaluations of proposals

  • Provide technical support including the review and assessment of artificial intelligence/machine learning algorithms, concepts, and prototypes

  • Support Agile SAFe program development processes and activities

Common Duties:

  • Work with technical staff documenting technical and programmatic requirements

  • Enter funding information into customer's financial tools

  • Develop acquisition packages in accordance with government acquisition checklists

  • Draft common acquisition artifacts such as statements of work, Contract Data Requirements Lists, In Scope Determinations, and proposal evaluation criteria

  • Provide acquisition advisory services during technical and cost evaluations of proposals

  • Effectively work with development teams to track technical progress, identify blockers to progress, and assess technical solutions

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI with Poly

  • Bachelor’s degree and 14+ years related experience

  • Acquisition support experience

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic and environment

  • Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional team

  • Effective interpersonal skills and strong briefing and communications skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies

  • Experience building architectural representations to inform management decision making

  • Experience with Agile development practices and SAFe processes
