SAIC is seeking a Data Governance Policy Principal to fill a critical position on the SAIC’s Prime Program Landmark AOS in Chantilly, VA. Landmark AOS is a large SETA program supporting the NRO’s Ground Enterprise Directorate (GED), responsible for the acquisition of systems over the complete end-to-end life cycle.

As a Data Governance Policy Principal , you will assist the information/data governance team in the formation and execution of data governance framework, policy, and standards. You will also assist in the implementation of an enterprise data governance and policy framework supporting the Chief Architect’s office within the Intelligence Community.

Job duties to include:

  • Assist in the development of an enterprise-wide data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through modifications to organization behavior policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools, and data architecture.

  • Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the Customer’s principal information assets.

  • Serve as a liaison between functional technology areas to ensure that data related business requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearly defined, communicated, and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning.

  • Develop & maintain inventory of the enterprise information maps, including authoritative systems, owners.

  • Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality standards, data protection standards and adoption requirements across the enterprise.

  • Define indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements.

  • Establish and ensure adherence to an enterprise data governance framework for data policies, standards, and practices.

  • Establish and govern an enterprise data governance implementation roadmap including strategic priorities for development of information-based capabilities.

  • In conjunction with the IT, provide progress reports to government management and provide updates to the data governance roadmap.

  • Provide individual engineers with technical leadership and with respect to data governance and policy adherence.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s and nine (9) years or more experience; Master’s and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience. Relevant experience to be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • 6+ years’ experience with IC, DoD, and/or commercial space architectures, systems and/or operations with large-scale data or project management and oversight experience.

  • 3+ years’ experience with industry leading data quality and data protection management practices

  • Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection.

  • Demonstrated consulting skills, with change management concepts and strategies, including communication, culture change and performance measurement system design.

  • Knowledge of risk data architectures, technology solutions, data related government regulatory requirements, emerging trends and issues
