Sensor System Engineer/Developer - TS/SCI

KBR is hiring a Sensor System Engineer / Developer in Reston, VA. KBR is seeking an experienced System Engineer to provide sustained on-site technical support to assist in overseeing the design, development, testing, integration, and operational maintenance of mission critical sensor systems and subsystems.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and analytical support; development and integration of sensor related requirements into existing and/or planned systems to include size, weight, and power requirements for hosted USG platforms.

  • Proactively identify and assess emerging technical and programmatic risks at the subsystem level.

  • Support the customer in the oversight of system/subsystem hardware development, integration, and test activities at the Subcontractor and associated vendor facilities.

  • Review/monitor subsystem and assembly-level test and verification/validation planning and execution leveraging U.S. government and commercial satellite communications architectures.

  • Provide technical review of drawings, documents, design, manufacturing, integration, and test; provide formal and informal feedback to the Contracting Officer Technical Representative, Subject Matter Experts, and other customer specified personnel as required.

  • Participate in and provide technical recommendations during design and program management reviews to assess maturity and requirements compliance to ensure the overall approach satisfies the operational requirement of the integrated system.

Required Attributes:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. Master of Science Degree preferred.

  • Experience with the design, development, testing, and integration of payloads.

  • Experience in Department of Defense (DOD) or Intelligence Community (IC) acquisitions.

  • Fundamental understanding of DOD/IC satellite systems and architectures and their operational employment.

  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team building and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to be effective in a government/contractor team environment.

Travel : Available to travel CONUS and OCONUS (10%).

Security Requirements: Must currently hold a TS/SCI security clearance w/CI Polygraph
