Title:

Solution Architect

The Solution Architect works in partnership with the VP for NSS BD, Capture Management, and NSS Operational leadership to plan and execute strategies for new and existing government customers that leverages KBR's 25+ years of expertise in the military space and intelligence markets throughout their full life cycle capabilities. This position reports directly to the Sr. Director of NSS Strategic Growth for cross-company collaboration, pipeline reporting, and synergy in meeting strategic business goals. The Solution Architect will have a passion for understanding and solving the challenges that face today’s military and national security space customers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leads strategic initiatives, including developing a strategy to enhance technical differentiation and move the opportunity pipeline further “up market” towards higher technology offerings, and enabling a cohesive, high-performing team to face the challenges from current and future military and national security space customers.

  • Assist the Capture Manager in a technical leadership role of strategic opportunities as assigned. Lead the development of technical artifacts throughout the capture process to include providing technical leadership to the team.

  • Responsible for leading technical solutions aligned with strategic initiatives to better position KBR NSS for growth in high priority markets.

Duties include:

  • Develops technical solutioning along with Capture Manager and SMEs

  • Participate in customer engagement to understand customer problem

  • Develop targeted solutions aimed at solving the customer problem

  • Ensures solution meets technical objectives along with cost and schedule

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex solutions involving software, hardware, skilled personnel and subcontractor support to achieve a holistic solution.

  • Validates solutioning with customer through continued engagement

  • Participates in strategy sessions, value proposition meetings, win theme discussions to provide technical vision

  • Develops overarching technical solution graphic as well as OV/SV graphics as needed

  • Ensures capabilities across KBR divisions are utilized

  • Builds and maintains relationships with SMEs, Technical Leads and other Architects

  • Develops Capabilities Assessment and Gap Analysis internal to KBR and external

  • Participates in teaming strategies and discussions

  • Provides technical leadership throughout Capture process

  • The candidate should possess strong team building and leadership capabilities that will engage key internal and external sources to develop clear, concise solutions to difficult problem sets across the DoD and IC.

  • Ability to visualize and create visual representations of solutions to include but not limited to SV-1, OV-1, Solution Graphics, etc… is required.

  • The candidate will be well versed in working with technical and program teams to develop scope and cost estimates to include but not limited to key labor categories and skill levels, level of effort estimates, basis of effort estimates, etc., within desired target cost.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in a Technology Driven field of study (i.e. Engineering, etc.) with a minimum of 15 years of experience.

  • Experience leading technical solutioning in partnership with business development and capture management teams; Technical solutioning experience will be in the defense and intelligence community markets for technology-centric business units providing both services and products to US Government customers.

  • Proven ability to successfully derive customer solutions based on understanding of customer problems that meet technical objectives within cost and schedule. From this in-depth understanding, the ideal candidate will be able to interact with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Key Stakeholders (internal to KBR and external), Technical Experts, and other key roles to develop a compelling Solution for strategic growth markets and opportunities aligned with the NSS growth strategy.

  • Ability to lead and participate in technical content development.

  • Expertise in Amazon Cloud, Kubernetes, Containers and Modern DevSecOps Principles

  • Expertise in Modern Software Development (git, multi-threading, DevSecOps, C++, Python, Linux, Docker)

  • Ability to analyze customer requirements against existing capabilities and develop/analyze gap analysis and potential teaming strategy against overall technical solution.

  • Excellent strategic leadership, communication & presentation skills with both internal and external stakeholders, strong analytical ability, team building, and facilitation skills are also essential.

  • Strong interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional skills sought include an understanding of contracting in the U.S. Space Force, U.S. Air Force, COCOMs, and other adjacent customers as well as a technical and domain understanding of Joint All-Domain Command and Control and agile software development.
