Senior Digital Engineer/Model-Based Systems Engineer

SAIC is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with experience in Digital Engineering (DE)/Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to join our energized team supporting an exciting, mission-driven digital systems engineering program.

In this position, you will exercise both thought leadership and practical Systems Engineering (SE) by using your extensive SE knowledge and DE/MBSE experience to transform the customer’s processes for acquiring and building systems. You will use your knowledge of DE/MBSE processes, methods, tools, and program roles to help develop, implement, and deploy systems engineering and integration solutions for use on customer programs. You will learn, apply, and continuously improve customer's current digital ecosystem, facilitate discussion and understanding of model-based solutions, and continuously lead a transformation of the model-based engineering culture. You will engage with other systems engineers directly supporting programs and foster a broader understanding and adoption of DE/MBSE and assist them in developing useful digital models that enable the development, integration, and operation of highly complex systems.

A successful candidate for this position will bring a record of application of systems engineering and DE/MBSE methods and creative thought leadership to mature and develop innovative model-based solutions involving processes, tools, and people. Information technology knowledge will be valuable for using digital engineering software. You will engage with the larger community (industry, government, and academia) to stay current on emerging technologies, approaches, methods, and techniques. As part of the team, you will also be expected to mentor others on digital solutions and standards. Demonstrated presentation and writing skills are required.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree with 18 years of experience, a Master’s degree with 16 years of experience or a Ph.D. or J.D. with15 or more years of experience

  • Broad Systems Engineering experience (e.g., system architecture and design, systems documentation, system requirements, CONOPS development, systems verification)

  • Solid systems engineering fundamentals (understanding problem space definition, solution architecture, levels of system abstraction)

  • Proven ability to work effectively and collaborate in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to independently execute work tasks efficiently

  • Strong written, communication, and presentation skills

  • Experience supporting US Federal Government agencies and processes

  • Active SCI clearance with CI polygraph (full-scope polygraph desired)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience leading Systems Engineering teams through all phases of the SE lifecycle employing DE/MBSE

  • Experience or familiarity with administration of Model Based Engineering tools

  • Broad background in the use of DE/MBSE techniques applications and technologies (e.g., tools, language, processes, ontologies, perspectives)

  • OCSMP certification as Model Builder Intermediate or Fundamental desired, but not required

  • Experience or familiarity with various analytical and decision aid tools (e.g., Cameo Enterprise Architecture, MatLab, STK)
