Charleston Kanawha Housing Authority Modernization Coordinator in Charleston, West Virginia
The duties of this position involve assisting with planning and carrying out of a modernization program for Charleston-Kanawha Housing Authority (CKHA). The purpose of the program is to rehabilitate public housing property and the incumbent is concerned with various aspects including assessing modernization needs, establishing a timetable for work to be done, applying for funds, inspection of work performed by private contractors, involved with developing specifications and advertising for bids, and insuring that required reports, accounts and budgets are completed. The work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of Facilities Maintenance. Manage and coordinate CKHA activities related to housing program compliance with the American with Disabilities (ADA) with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Work with CKHA management, staff, housing applicants, residents and resident advocates to obtain information to analyze and determine reasonable accommodation requests.
