The Technology Strategy Claims Lead Analyst will serve as a lead analyst for claims processes and systems, helping to ensure that our technology deliverables are aligned to market trends and enterprise strategy. They will provide functional and process expertise on behalf of the business to define required features across claims process, claims intake and claims systems.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • In partnership with the Technology Strategy Claims Program Manager, ensure that organization deliverables and initiatives align to both enterprise strategy and market trends.

  • Serve as an influential intermediary between the assigned business clients and the IT teams and require a developing knowledge of both environments. This position is a lead role, guiding team members on claims processing projects.

  • Work with the business to develop processes and workflow and document them.

  • Manage and drive roadmap: Coordinate and prioritize the delivery of features and enhancements based on business value and impact. Communicate the roadmap and status to the project and business team.

  • Monthly release planning and prioritization: Work with the IT team to plan and execute monthly releases of the claims system. Review and approve the release scope, schedule and quality. Manage the change control process and identify non-standard requests.

  • Coordinate and validate changes and enhancements: Work with internal and external stakeholders across Sales Distribution Management, Marketing, Product and the Technology organization to validate and coordinate the changes and enhancements to the claims system. Ensure proper communication and alignment with all the parties involved.

  • Oversee end to end UAT activities: Own and lead the integrated test plan for the claims system, including data set-up, script definition, defect remediation and regression testing. Ensure the system meets the business and technical requirements and follows the best practices.

  • Undertake complex analysis to develop the detailed user stories or requirements of the solution to satisfy the business need.

  • Work very closely with the testing team, using the user stories or requirements document as a critical guide, to ensure that issues are identified and fully resolved prior to roll out.

  • Oversee the business requirements and process design in the implementation of a SaaS platform for claims management.

  • Assist with the definition of interfaces between the platform and Equitable systems.

  • Assist in the plan to convert off and sunset the existing claims platforms.

  • Oversee and participate in the testing and roll out of the new claims systems.

The base salary range for this position is $ 87,000 -$ 130,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of disability claims management, including the relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Experience with claims system solutions and processes, and the ability to learn new systems quickly.

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, able to foster working relationships within the tech strategy team, IT, business colleagues, external vendors, brokers, and agents.

  • Knowledge of business and technology practices and trends, and the ability to adapt to changing needs and requirements.

  • Strong influencing, negotiation, and elicitation skills, able to gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

  • Experience in employee group benefits, especially in the disability insurance domain.

  • Strong analytical skills, able to understand and process complex data and information, and identify and resolve issues.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel, using clear and concise language.

  • Ability to operate in a challenging and fast-paced team environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities, and meeting deadlines.

  • Possess a high level of productivity, reliability, responsibility, attendance, dependability, organization, and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SQL skills is not required but a plus.
