Robert Half is working on a new opening at a fast-growing company in Charlotte. In addition to measuring, analyzing, and forecasting performance in conjunction with operating plans, you will conduct financial modeling on a variety of financial products in this Financial Analyst role. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing reports for management and advising management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives. Forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management will be some of your focus areas as a business partner on this dynamic team. Your role as the Financial Analyst will consist of supporting world class strategic and financial planning methods, building long-range operating plans to support business imperatives and developing rolling forecast processes to ensure resources every quarter are consumed at maximum effectiveness. Along with your main responsibilities, you will assist with operationalizing and cultivating a more data-driven planning process and improved monthly and quarterly reporting. In this role, you will be directly involved in the coordination of various planning cycles (annual planning, quarterly forecasts and monthly outlooks), while providing strategic analyses and recommendations. You will provide variance analysis of bookings, revenues and expenses, clearly explaining the business reasons for variances and adjusting the outlook models to reflect operational adjustments. This Financial Analyst role, which is located in the Charlotte, North Carolina, is a permanent employment opportunity.

Your responsibilities in this role

  • An ideal candidate should be highly flexible, comfortable with large amounts of information, and adept at managing expectations

  • Gather and oversee forecasting reports

  • Work alongside senior executives on strategic deep dives to create financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, event tracking and execution, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, and strategic resource allocation, and prioritization

  • Collaborate with the Accounting team on the monthly and quarterly financial close process

  • Drive Area/Segment-level Bookings on a weekly, quarterly and annual basis, as well as P& L forecasting

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners in Accounting and Operations to ensure plans are executed properly

  • Recognize potential risks and opportunities while analyzing performance to date

  • Explain and understand internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending

  • Drive monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required

  • Ensure business partners handle their resources by tracking monthly and quarterly performance through the comparison of actuals versus expectations

  • Deliver effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide valuable foresight and decision support

    Requirements - Less than one year of experience

  • Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools experience a plus

  • Spreadsheet and ERP system experience preferred

  • Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

  • Background in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly valued (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)

  • Financial analysis & planning (go-to-market experience preferable)

  • Solid understanding of budget forecasting

  • Command of Microsoft Excel

  • Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired

  • Active problem-solver who listens for customer cues and actively resolves problems with grace and integrity

  • BA/BS degree in finance or a related field
