LION SERVICES INC Financial Bookkeeper in CHARLOTTE, North Carolina

Reports to: Controller

Department: Accounting

Purpose: Responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of bookkeeping and accounting transactions involving all financial activities. To assist in producing monthly financial data, reports and statements. Responsibilities:

Assist Controller with month end closing processes, by performing monthly standard entries and adjusting entries. Reconcile various General Ledger accounts and appropriate sub-ledgers such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Prepaid Expenses and Accrued Expenses. Maintain Fixed Assets register and record appropriate depreciation expense in ERP system. Perform customer invoicing along with all necessary follow up on outstanding balances. Code and match approved vendor invoices, enter invoices into Accounts Payable system via auto-voucher or manual entry. Reconcile bank accounts. Assist Controller with data gathering for year-end external audit and other external reporting. Maintain continuous learning aptitude for knowledge on generally accepted accounting practices (GAAP), internal controls and best practices for accounting procedures. Participate in meetings and represent LSI in the applicable capacity as needed Performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associates degree in accounting
  • Practical Experience - 5 years in accounting as a bookkeeper/accountant - mandatory
  • Must demonstrate advanced knowledge in basic accounting principles
  • Manufacturing experience preferred, but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to meeting deadlines and detail oriented
  • Strong skills in Excel and ERP software
