The Linux SME is expected to spend approximately 90% of their time working on post-sales consulting and solutioning with the customer to help them optimize their infrastructure product spend with Dell's technologies and 10% of time growing proficiency in the Dell Technologies services offerings to enable continued growth and success with the customer.

High-level design of software system blue-prints/specifications.

Analyze, Plan, Design, Test and Evaluate organization’s Software and Infrastructure systems and processes.

Perform systems modeling, analysis and project/systems planning.

Research and recommend Infrastructure hardware, software, DevOps methodologies/tools and Cloud Platforms for the overall architecture.

Designing and developing continuous delivery and continuous integration frameworks.

What You’ll Achieve

For this Linux Developer/SME role, we are looking for strategic, creative, outgoing Infrastructure SME professionals with a passion for technology evangelism, customer advisory, and custom solution development. The Linux SME lives in the global ecosystem between sales, account delivery and services delivery as a strategic partner.

You Will:

• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Ansible and Python to streamline system administration tasks and improve operational efficiency.

• Develop automation for RHEL LEAPP upgrades, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption to the platform.

• Troubleshoot complex technical issues related to the Linux platform, including performance tuning and security enhancements.

• Manage Linux OS configurations, specifically with a focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain Linux OS platform.

• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in Linux, financial services, and cybersecurity.

• Provide engineering level support and contribute to incident resolution as needed.

• Document system configurations, procedures, and policies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Linux Platform Engineer, with a focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) preferred.

• Expert level programming skills in Python and Ansible.

• Demonstrated expertise in Linux OS configuration management.

• Demonstrated ability to develop scalable solutions that have been deployed in large global enterprise environments.

• Experience with RHEL LEAPP upgrades is highly desirable.

• Experience with Data Visualization tools, such as Splunk and ELK, is a plus.

• Knowledge of financial services, including regulations and security standards, is preferred.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working in a team-oriented environment.

• Certifications such as RHCE or equivalent are a plus.

• Willingness to adapt to evolving technologies and embrace continuous learning.
