Job Title: Manufacturing EngineerJob Description

This position is accountable for sustaining standard work so that work processes are repeatable and reliable. Responsibilities include developing, evaluating, improving, and documenting manufacturing processes to enhance manufacturability and eliminate inefficiencies. The role involves analyzing process flows to improve quality, reduce costs, and increase throughput. Collaboration with configuration control and design engineering is essential to ensure effective production methods. The position requires working closely with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for equipment, parts, or material purchases, evaluating products according to quality standards. Additionally, the role includes developing technical training for employees, designing and developing manufacturing processes for enhancements and new products, maintaining accurate documentation, troubleshooting technical problems, and proactively eliminating EHS hazards to ensure safe work areas. The successful candidate will lead Kaizen teams and utilize lean principles and systems thinking to lead projects and process improvement initiatives. This role involves high complexity design and planning of layout for assembly and materials handling, adaptation of machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions, and planning the sequence of operations for the fabrication of tools and equipment.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Work Environment

Design, R&D, Manufacturing, and 5 test labs. The center for excellence is all in CLT. The company ships air-cooled and water-cooled commercial chiller systems. The environment is low volume, high mix with large systems. There is access to extensive analysis and collaboration to make improvements. Opportunities exist to go direct or be extended, with two major new products being introduced on the floor. These products come in different setups and sizes. The position involves working between 2-3 pm and 11-12 at night.
