University of Virginia Clinical Research Coordinator, Trainee in Charlottesville, Virginia

The University of Virginia, School of Medicine Department of Cardiology, is seeking a Clinical Research Trainee to support clinical research studies within the department supporting Cardiovascular pharmaceutical and device related trials. This Clinical Research Trainees learn and assist with a variety of clinical activities, including work with laboratory specimens, document preparation, record keeping, materials preparation, and review of prospective research participants, subject recruitment, visit scheduling, and data collection. The trainee works with the investigator, the human subject, the Institutional Review Board (IRB), the University, regulatory agencies responsible for the oversight of the research, and the sponsor. Duties and responsibilities will include, study training for research team members and clinical staff, clinical trial subject screening and recruitment, research data collection, entry and query resolution, communications with study teams and sponsors, assist with study budgets and research epic billing reconciliation, scheduling study visits and communication with investigators, clinical teams, sponsors and IRB. The incumbent will be part of a team of clinical research professionals supporting all aspects of clinical research in both in-patient and out-patient settings.


Education: Non-licensed trainees possess a Bachelor's degree, and licensed trainees have at least an Associate's degree with an appropriate health-related licensure.

Licensure: Licensure is dependent on research study requirements.
