University of Virginia Instructor in Trumpet (Faculty Wage) in Charlottesville, Virginia
The University of Virginia Department of Music seeks applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor in Trumpet for the Fall 2021 semester. Responsibilities include developing a studio of undergraduate trumpet students, and other potential performance opportunities on a per-service basis.
Qualifications: Graduate degree in trumpet performance or pedagogy or commensurate experience. Demonstrated excellence as a performer of solo and ensemble music and experience or strong potential as a teacher of undergraduate students. Candidates should be comfortable teaching students of varying skill levels (music majors and non-majors). Compensation is per service for studio teaching; 2021-22 rate is $760 per student per semester of weekly one-hour lessons. Appointment to begin August 24, 2021.
