Job Description Senior Quality Engineer TEL designs and manufactures complex capital equipment for the semiconductor industry. Our equipment integrates a wide variety of wafer processing technologies from wet to vacuum; and all the support systems to make them run: Electrical power systems, mechanical utilities, PLC controls, vacuum technology, custom design robotics and mechanisms, high voltage, RF generators, complex motion control, process chemical delivery and more. Tokyo Electron Limited is looking for an experienced, process driven, results oriented Senior Quality Engineer to champion Quality and Continuous Improvement at all organizational levels. Key Responsibilities: Work with cross-functional internal and external teams to develop and maintain a robust product quality process. Work closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations on all stages of New Product Development, ensuring quality is designed into the parts and the processes. Monitor the post-launch quality of products. Conduct failure analysis of varied components and systems, utilizing own skills, corporate SMEs, suppliers, and outside laboratories to determine direct and systemic root causes. Provide detailed failure analysis reports for internal and external requests as assigned. Develop and track KPIs related to customer complaints, product quality and warranty. Lead structured problem-solving activities to resolve customer complaints, production non-conformances, and warranty claims. Apply quality methodologies, tools, and techniques incrementally and throughout product development. Quality leadership within organization Participate as a member of the Material Review Board Support outside certification audits (e.g., ISO 9001:2015 & customer) Process-focused management system advocate. Enable a "Shift Left" quality cultural change from reactive to proactive quality approach. Drive reduction in cost of poor quality. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline, 8 years of experience in supplier quality within a lean manufacturing environment ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), other certifications or equivalent body of knowledge Knowledge of ISO9001:2015 standards Key Desired Competencies: Six Sigma Green Belt certified - Black Belt preferred Electro-Mechanical competency, capital equipment experience a plus. Naturally inquisitive with the drive to seek understanding of complex systems down to the first principles level. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Open attitude and willingness to drive internal and external continuous improvements. Ability to meet project timelines, collaborate with, and lead others using project planning and documentation development skills. Change management agent in a global environment. Root Cause Analysis using DMAIC or PDCA problem solving methodologies such as 8D and A3 Non-Conforming Materials Control & Disposition (MRB) Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) Design for Manufacturability (DFM) Review Quality Scorecard Creation and Reporting Contemporary Quality and Reliability tools such as APQP, SPC, PPAP, and FAI Cost of Poor Quality Measurement System Analysis (MSA) PFMEA and Control Plans Process Audit Knowledge Proficiency in MS Excel, Power BI, and statistical software Project Management Skill MRP System Quality module experience (SAP preferred) Physical Demands and Work Conditions The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must e met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. This is a largely sedentary role; however, the role requires the employee to bend or stand as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift items weighing up to 35 pounds. This position also requires on average 4 - 6 hours per day at a computer screen/keyboard.
