Job Purpose

As a Senior Associate Engineer of machine hydraulics integration, you shall be responsible for providing design solutions (system & component level) for its new products or improve existing products to meet its best-in-class performance & life.

Job Roles & Responsibilities

Incumbents are expected to demonstrate as a

  • Strong analytical engineer – Strong understanding of engineering basics, DOE (using hand calculation, FEA analysis). Probabilistic life risk analysis, understanding machine performance characteristics.

  • Be a Design Analyst - Should be able to conceive new concepts, convert ideas into 3D models & perform virtual simulation to validate the multi physics and be to develop validated designs.

  • Able Technical Know-How & Problem-Solving engineer- Should be able to understand techno commercial aspects of design, design for manufacturability, product behaviours in field. Solve complex engineering challenges.

  • Knowledgeable CAT Process & tools added advantage - Good understanding of CAT process like APQP, DFMEA, GD&T, Basic 6 sigma tools, CPPD process.

  • Team Player- Leverage engine installation & cooling, light & large structures, machine integration sub design team’s strength. Collaborate with cross functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturing facilities to meet hydraulic integration targets for quality, cost, and velocity.

  • Effective Communicator – Be able to understand and communicate the complex problems effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Product Expertise on - Hydraulic system & its machine integration understanding schematic diagram, pump, valve, cylinder, hose, hose fitting, pump design.

Required Skillset

  • Understanding the hydraulics schematics and integrate Hydraulic components as per schematics.

  • Should have through knowledge in selecting hose, tubes, adaptors and fittings to meet the system requirements.

  • Perform engineering calculations and finalise the hose and tubes sizes.

  • Design and routing of fluid systems (tubes, bulk hoses, molded hoses etc)

  • Design the supporting brackets for hydraulics components placement.

  • Perform FEA and dynamic hoses analysis.

  • Know how on principles of operation and functions of hydraulic systems.

  • Ability to read prints, drawings, schematics and communicate with customers.

  • Participation in design review meeting, mentor and guide other teammates.

  • Follow all applicable design guide standards and product development processes.

  • Provide engineering solutions to fix quality issues, e.g. NPI, BIQ, CPI, deviations.

  • Innovate new ideas and leverage existing/new technology to drive cross-product synergy.

  • Know how on hydraulic standards.

  • Hands on Assembly and Fitment issues addressed during design.

  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacture & Assembly.

  • Participated in a machine build and solve the build issues within targeted timeline.

  • Awareness of cost factors in product design.

  • Demonstrated experience in the following tools/methods:

  • Teamcenter Engineering

  • Fluid Lines

  • Creo Simulate

  • Automation studio / Dynasty

  • Bolted Joint Analysis

  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

  • Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)

  • Use of Engineering Standards, Specifications, REDI Design Guides
