Job Description:
Under direction, Assistant Commissioner directs the activities of a customer experience division of a City department; and performs related duties as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Oversee, supervise, and manage the Customer Experience division which makes up a team of 20+ employees at both O’Hare and Midway International Airports.
Oversee helping customers, building relationships, and improving the customer experience
Oversee and manage all Customer Experience related contracts.
Coordinate staff and volunteers who assist in 1M+ customer interactions annually.
Coordinate with the department’s emergency management team to prepare for airport emergencies, the triennial exercise and other emergency preparedness exercises.
Manage and average of 5,000 correspondence annually.
Prepare reports and metrics to support operations within the department.
Partner with Consulate Corps and Sister Cities to welcome foreign dignitaries and heads of state.
Partner with Travelers Aid volunteer program.
Oversee and implement training programs for the department.
Manage an annual budget of $2M+.
Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in a field related to the duties performed; AND
five (7) years of work experience related to the responsibilities of the position; OR
an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Must pass an airport background check and Security Threat Assessment.
