Key Responsibilities:

At United, the developer is responsible for the development and implementation of cutting-edge enterprise solutions that directly impact the travel experience of our millions of customers at hundreds of airports. The Developer's role is to plan, design, develop and launch efficient systems and solutions in support of core organizational functions.

This individual will apply proven technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues and opportunities to enhance the benefit of IT and Business investments. The Developer is self-sufficient in completing assigned tasks requiring minimal supervision.

  • Design, develop and modify software applications/systems according to specifications

  • Consult with Business Analysts, Tech Leads and User Experience Designers on potential software solutions for business specifications

  • Provide support to the engineers and architects during design, implementation, and operationalization at airports

  • Support and troubleshoot software systems as required, help optimizing performance, resolving problems, and providing follow-up on all issues and solutions

  • Develop appropriate software documentations

  • Complete comprehensive unit testing on all developed/enhanced software components

  • Work on moderate to complex projects in highly automated environments

  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and provide updates

  • Demonstrate knowledge of development methodologies, software design and design patterns, integration standards as well as its applicability at coding and testing cycles

  • Demonstrate knowledge of software engineering best practices such as: version controlling, software packaging and software release management

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or related field

  • 3+ years of experience in design & development of large-scale applications

  • Exceptional at coding and on time delivery of quality components and/or applications with primary focus on .Net microservice development

  • Experienced with AWS services such as EKS, DynamoDB, RDS, Lambda, AmazonMQ, API Gateway, etc. and writing quality unit tests

  • Excel at working problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires review of a variety of systems

  • Proficient with tools such as Git, Harness/TeamCity, SonarQube

  • Proficient in software development following Agile methodologies

  • Creative and innovative; avid learner of new technologies

  • Effective verbal and written communication

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Proven track record of developing large scale enterprise application

  • Exposure to Observability tools Datadog/Dynatrace/AppDynamics

  • Knowledge of Serverless, Continuous Integration and Deployment pipelines to Cloud infrastructure, well architected framework

  • Exposure to full-stack application development for multiple device profiles using Angular as front end
