Apply advanced expertise to perform a wide variety of electrical and electronic responsibilities for production and/or facilities machines and equipment and assist in maintaining department efficiencies at maximum output levels. Work with supervisor and support all assigned personnel during respective shift. While performing the duties listed below, the lead is required to spend 85% of time on the floor
Day-to-Day Role:
Follow and commit to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service requirements
Follow practices and processes intended to provide safe products that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet the company quality standards
Follow and commit to safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
Provide lead support over production and/or facilities electrical and electronic projects that may span multiple departments, production lines, processes and/or technologies
Audit the floor as required by Leader Standard Work, monitor productivity metrics, verify adherence to procedures and standard work, correct deficiencies and escalate to supervisor as necessary
Coordinate with supervisor to review and maintain schedules to ensure resources are available to meet schedule. Ensure that accurate information is reported, and the appropriate paperwork is completed and turned in
Communicate with oncoming shifts about any problems or issues that are occurring. Work with other departments to maintain or improve communications
Notify supervisor immediately and recommend solutions if there are issues that will prevent achievement of efficiency goals
Perform processes in SAP as required
Track and maintain appropriate documentation
Create, compile, and deliver required reports
Perform routine duties in support of shift requirements
Actively support Operational Excellence and effectively participate in lean initiatives
Complete root cause analysis and recommend solutions
Recommend work procedures, and recommend changes or modifications for improved efficiency
Apply advanced, complex troubleshooting
May also perform one or more of the following:
Maintain, install, and repair equipment, electrical and electronic systems and facility electrical systems.
Analyze complex control systems to resolve in-depth software/ hardware and configuration problems
Analyze test data, and perform electrical calculations to determine source of problems and the corrective action to take.
Perform analog and digital circuit design by utilizing microprocessor hardware and software configurations
Use Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) including basic and ladder logic to read/write wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints in order to diagnosis problems
Maintain and utilize maintenance systems for work orders, breakdown reporting and track machine modifications.
Interpret, draw and update electrical schematics and drawings
Plan layout of wiring and install conduit, wiring and ancillary electrical equipment
Install power supply wiring and conduit and troubleshoot issues as they arise
Core Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:
At least five (7) years of related electrical and electronics experience working in a fast-paced work environment
High School Diploma or GED
Demonstrated leadership skills
Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes
Ability to utilize and train employees on technology, processes and procedures
Previous plant production software experience required, SAP experience preferred
Ability to perform root cause analysis, compare and investigate information, and recommend and implement resolution
Proven analytical problem solver
Understanding of electrical laws and principals (KVL, Ohm’s Law, Power Law, etc.)
Thorough understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC)
Expert knowledge of electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and temperature and pressure gauges
Advanced knowledge of industrial controls and instrumentation
Ability to make changes to Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) using advanced ladder logic, read/write wiring diagrams, schematics and blueprints, and analytical diagnosis of problems
Ability to originate instruction documents that can be used by other technicians to perform preventive maintenance or verify electrical system operation.
Math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and algebra
Familiar with and ability to convert decimals to fractions or vice versa and convert units (imperial to SI, etc.)
Must have an understanding of microprocessor hardware and software configurations and be able to perform complex analog and digital circuit design
Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to modify basic reports, documents and spreadsheets in MS Word, and MS Excel
Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor degree
Prior training experience
Previous experience in a Lead role
