Summary:

Manages the daily operations of the Perioperative and Interventional Business Office and the Anesthesia Services Office overseeing staff management, operations administration, financial activities and project management. This position requires a motivated, well-organized, and conscientious individual who can manage multiple tasks at the same time. Required Job Qualifications:

•Bachelors degree required. Three years of prior healthcare experience required or in a related field

•Two years of prior experience managing teams

•Competent in basic Microsoft Office programs

•Excellent written and oral communication skills

•Strong interpersonal skills

•Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast paced environment

•Open-mindedness and willingness to facilitate change

•Works effectively with minimal supervision

•Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

Preferred Job Qualifications:

•Master’s degree in health administration or business equivalent

•Experience in billing or scheduling preferred

•Knowledge of duties performed in the areas of responsibility

Responsibilities:

•Oversees day to day management of the sterile processing and vendor management of the department with Purchasing and Contracting, Supply Chain, SPD, Linen, and the OR to manage surgical vendor escalations, vendor compliance, loaner inventory residing in SPD.

•Manages performance for personnel related to procedural scheduling and charge capture, anesthesia services, and the Loaner Instrument Management Specialist team for surgical vendor management.

•Provides oversight for staffing by Anesthesia support services, monitoring hiring/evaluating/goal setting, salary-compensation management and performance management.

•Designs, implements, and supports RUMC policies and procedures with continual review of relevant workflows and metrics resulting in recommendations/changes as necessary.

•Proficient in performing all duties of reporting staff to train new team members.

•Develops budgets, supports purchase order and requisition functions for expenses across the Departments including capital acquisitions, and manages expenses to meet budget targets.

•Serves as liaison to clinical staff, hospital departments, and other departments as appropriate to organize, coordinate and ensure timely and accurate completion of all required processes for the Perioperative & Interventional platform and anesthesia services.

•Assists Department leadership with projects including process and operational planning and financial and performance analysis.

•Assumes a leadership role in the absence of other leaders within the Business Office of Periop and Interventional Services.

•Supports compliance with all regulatory and accrediting agencies, including but not limited to coordinating and collecting data for surveys or other databases and preparatory actions for personnel to meet standards performance.

•Promotes a positive and productive environment, encourages teamwork and communication.

•Provides direction and management of surgical vendors in the sterile processing areas, which includes but is not limited to vendor workflows and access of the Sterile Processing Department, communication of hospital policies and standards, issue escalation, and process improvements
