Description:

We are seeking a dynamic technology leader to join our team as the Program Principal for Application

Modernization with a Microsoft technology background . This strategic role will be pivotal in leading and

executing large-scale application modernization customer engagements, ensuring the successful

transformation of legacy systems into robust, scalable, and modern microservices and serverless

solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing and implementing

enterprise-level solutions using Microsoft technologies, including Azure, .NET, and Microsoft 365.

Reporting to Director of Application Modernization, this role will be responsible for leading development,

sales, solution and delivery of Application Modernization program offerings for TEKsystems Global

Services Enterprise customers. This role will be accountable for ensuring delivery excellence and

providing thought leadership to Our customer’s executive and technical leadership.

Capability Development:

In this role, you will lead development of Application Modernization offerings for customer’s Cloud-native and Cloud-agnostic needs focused on Microsoft technology stack. This includes but is not limited to use-cases such as monolith to microservices initiatives, large scale application modernization initiatives and cloud-native/modern cloud application development work.

1. Technical Expertise:

• You will leverage your in-depth expertise in Microsoft technologies staying updated on the latest advancements on tools and services available in the market, and guiding the team in applying best practices to build offering that can be delivered to customer at scale.

2. Team Training and Development:

• As a leader of the program, you are required to foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the team, ensuring they are equipped with the latest modern application development skills and knowledge.

3. Innovation and Best Practices:

• As a leader of the program, you are required to drive innovation and the adoption of best practices in application modernization, ensuring our solutions are at the forefront of industry standards.

Strategic Delivery:

In this role, you will engage directly with TEKsystems customers to understand their technical challenges and provide expert guidance and architectural pathways to achieve modernization goals. You will work closely with customer leadership, technical architects and project sponsor to ensure modernization initiative is making progress per defined timelines and milestones while adhering to industry standards

1. Project Planning and Execution:

• As a Program Principal, you will be responsible for planning, execution, and successful delivery of application modernization projects, ensuring alignment with client goals and industry standards.

2. Risk Management:

• As a Program Principal, you will be responsible for Identifying and mitigating potential technical risks and challenges associated with architectural designs. Implement development strategies to ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of solutions.

3. Architectural Thought Leadership:

• As a Program Principal, you will be required to analyze customer’s requirements, understand current state and build target architecture that leverage modern technologies and platform to achieve faster time to market

Technical Leadership:

1. Architecture and Design Oversight:

• As a Program Principal, you will be required to provide technical leadership in the design and architecture of application modernization solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.

2. Code Review and Quality Assurance:

• As a Program Principal, you will participate in code reviews and implement quality assurance measures to guarantee the delivery of high-quality, reliable applications.

3. Cross-functional Collaboration:

• As a Program Principal, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define modernization strategies and roadmaps, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Qualifications

1. Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees (Master’s, Ph.D.) are preferred.

2. Professional Experience:

• 10+ years of relevant professional experience in Software Architecture and design

• 5+ years of experience in Enterprise architecture, solution design and technical leadership roles

• Proven track record in leading and successfully implementing Application modernization initiatives.

• 3+ years in IT consulting and IT services organizations

3. Application Development Expertise

• Strong proficiency in C#, VB.NET, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, and PowerShell.

• Solid experience in API design, microservices and serverless architecture

• Hands-on experience with Kafka for building scalable and event-driven architectures.

4. Cloud Technologies:

• Expertise in Azure cloud platform for development, deployment of modern applications and services

• Hands-on experience with cloud-based data services, storage, and analytics solutions.

5. Database Technologies:

• Proficiency in database design, optimization, and management

• Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases for data modeling and querying

• Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases.

6. Data Architecture:

• Strong knowledge of data architecture principles and practices with respect to observability, alert management, and security

• Experience in designing and implementing scalable and efficient data models for data originating from various sources

7. Leadership Skills:

• Previous leadership experience in managing and leading cross-functional teams.

• Ability to inspire and mentor team members, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.

• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into architectural solutions

 

8. Communication Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stake
