Meta Sanctions Intelligence and Control Oversights Lead in Chicago, Illinois

Summary:

You will be a main strategic driver for building controls and optimizations for a global sanctions program. Not only will you be building from scratch, you will consolidate controls for existing processes, new product launches, leverage intelligence gleaned from investigations and change the way we screen in a controlled environment. The vision of this role will be to develop, build, and automate industry-standard sanctions technology controls. This role will provide the opportunity to have deep understanding of a global sanctions screening program at a large Fintech and provide you with exposure to varied regulations and cross-functional partnership.

Required Skills:

Sanctions Intelligence and Control Oversights Lead Responsibilities:

  1. Work collaboratively with a dynamic group of cross-functional stakeholders including, but not limited to, Legal, Product, Engineering, Finance and Marketing

  2. Build and manage Sanctions controls framework including automated controls, metrics and reconciliation controls

  3. Lead projects to help create innovative, scalable sanctions compliance systems and processes to harness the transactional power of Meta, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger and other Meta companies

  4. Interact with other teams to continually drive sanctions investigative innovation and compliance

  5. Interact with Management and cross-functional partners to raise awareness of Sanctions Compliance related trends, emerging issues, remedial actions or potential enhancements impacting the Sanctions Compliance Program

  6. Interact with Engineering, Technology, and vendors partners to drive the sanctions screening roadmap of technology updates and enhancements

  7. Support the team and overarching Payments Compliance organization in researching and responding to regulatory and related requests and contributing to sanctions risk assessments as needed

  8. Work cross functionally to ensure successful completion of automated sanctions screening platform enhancements, updates, and/or remediation efforts

  9. Create artifacts and documentation for screening projects, their platforms, and overall ecosystem

  10. Promote a culture of compliance to ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes

  11. Lead, train, and nurture team to ensure continued success

  12. Track, monitor and escalate key results for the department and help the department achieve its key performance indicators (KPI’s)

  13. Implement technical solutions to aid in investigations and oversight of alerts

  14. Monitor various dashboards and identify opportunities for efficiencies and optimization

  15. Partner with Sanctions Financial Intelligence Unit investigators to utilize data and intelligence to mitigate risk to Meta

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Experience in a compliance department or other internal control function at a financial services company in a process, data, or technology related function

  2. Experience as a lead on cross-functional projects demonstrating impact, influencing and leading organizational change

  3. 5+ years of experience performing data analysis using SQL/Hive

  4. Experience interacting with other process leads, cross-functional teams and leaders of the department

  5. Experience building relationships and working collaboratively as part of a team

Public Compensation:

$116,000/year to $168,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
