About the Department
Nanduri Prabhakar\'s research team is in the Institute for Integrative Physiology. Research focus of Dr. Prabhakar\'s team is on cardio-respiratory regulation in experimental models of Sleep apnea. One aspect of research deals gaso transmitters (H2S, carbon monoxide (CO), Nitric Oxide) participation in experimental models of sleep apnea.
Job Summary
Dr. Prabhakar\'s lab is looking for Staff Scientist to work on measurements and analysis of gaseous transmitters (H2S and CO) and biochemical regulation of H2S and CO in central and peripheral nervous Systems and tissues harvested from rodents subjected to Intermittent hypoxia, a cardinal feature of Sleep Apnea.
Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, facilitate and advanced technical/scientific research projects.
- Designs, develops, and tests experimental protocols for research and collaborates in ongoing projects and with other researchers as appropriate.
- Participates in the preparation and writing of grant applications and reports, and co-authors scientific research manuscripts.
- May supervise other research staff.
- May present work at scientific meetings and provide peer review of grant applications and scientific manuscripts.
- Serves as a resource for collecting data and performing analysis. Facilitates and promotes a research project by providing scientific or intellectual information.
- Develops laboratory protocols and training on new techniques. Manage, analyze and make recommendations on complex data sets for research.
- Performs other related work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Minimum requirements include a PhD in related field.

- Doctoral degree.
Experience:
- Experience in developing and implementing gas transmitters protocols.
- Experience with the measurements and analysis ofgaseous transmitters.
- Experience with assisting in the training, a strong publication record, and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in research.
