Quartz Broker Relationship Manager Northeast Illinois in Chicago, United States

Quartz is seeking a well-connected health insurance professional who can develop and manage the Northeast Illinois territory (seeking candidates that reside in Cook or DuPage County) to achieve member goals for Quartz ACA/Individual product line. The primary focus of the Broker Relationship Manager role is to grow membership in this service area by identifying and adding new external agents and agencies in this line of business. This position will understand this market and communicate both product and sales knowledge, collaborate with Sales leadership and Underwriting & Finance to develop innovative plan designs.

  • Identify and develop a network of new external brokers and partners in the NE Illinois area to write ACA/Individual plans so that Quartz will achieve membership goals while being the partner of choice to select agencies in this market.

  • Assist agent appointment team ensuring all prospective brokers are appointed.

  • Ensure agents are properly trained and are ready to sell plans for the year.

  • Review plans for ACA/Individual annually to ensure competitive designs.

  • Must follow Quartz policies and procedures of sales operations.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field with 4+ years of progressively responsible experience, with demonstrated reporting and analytical skills/experience

  • OR Associate degree in business or related field with 7+ years of progressively responsible experience, with demonstrated reporting and analytical skills/experience

  • OR High school diploma/GED with 10+ years of progressively responsible experience, with demonstrated reporting and analytical skills/experience

  • 2+ years of ACA experience in the Northeast Illinois service area with knowledge of the Broker community

  • Expert ACA/Individual Product and Market knowledge in Northeastern Illinois

  • Prior experience as a Broker Manager or similar role as a carrier Rep is preferred

  • Prior experience working for or with local agencies is preferred

  • Knowledge of CMS rules and regulations for the ACA/Individual Lines of Business is preferred

  • Knowledge of health insurance plans, policies, processes, and medical terminology

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Strong knowledge of personal computer software applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and knowledge base software

  • Ability to effectively collaborate with internal, external staff and members

  • Ability to identify training needs and effectively respond to changes in the work environment

  • Tact, integrity, flexibility, and problem-solving capabilities

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Must be comfortable giving presentations to all levels of an organization

  • Must have a current license in Accident & Health in Illinois

  • Ability to travel throughout Northeast Illinois service area, as required

This position can work 100% remotely with required travel throughout Northeast Illinois service area to build and develop relationships in the market. Hardware and equipment will be provided by the company, but candidates must have access to high-speed, non-satellite Internet to successfully work from home.
