Job Overview As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the UC College of Medicine has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients. The Department of Family & Community Medicine has played a leading role in fellow, resident, and medical student education since 1974 and continues to focus on improving the health of members of our Cincinnati community and beyond, with a special focus on medically underserved patients. With faculty expertise in areas such as primary care research, palliative care, geriatrics, global health and integrative medicine, the department is advancing the college's commitment to cultivating learning environments, fostering research and scholarship, and providing innovative patient care. The Department of Family & Community Medicine is seeking a Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Med-Peds physician to join us beginning in July 2025.The Sawyer Pardo Fellowship for LGBTQ+ Health aims to train physicians to be leaders in health care for LGBTQ+ and gender expansive individuals through clinical excellence, scholarship, and advocacy for and with LGTBQ+ communities. The Sawyer Pardo LGBTQ+ Fellowship Program aims to create an equitable and inclusive clinical and educational environment that values all identities, including sexual orientation, sex, gender identity, race, ethnicity, religion, age, and disability. Essential Functions Responsibilities in the areas of clinical, academic, and leadership will include: Develop a LGBTQ+ focused patient panel at the UC West Chester Family Medicine Residency Program - a faculty and resident ambulatory family medicine office. Provide direct independent clinical care with ongoing mentorship as needed from the Program Directors. Provide broad spectrum primary care aligned with their residency training. The fellow will provide gender affirming hormone therapy to transgender and gender expansive adults. Participate in quality improvement initiatives within clinical practice. Complete outpatient telephone home calls in the faculty pool once per month. Option to provide inpatient, adult care at West Chester Hospital Additional clinical experiences with fellowship faculty will occur (Equitas Health, UC Health Hartwell, UC Health specialty clinics (e.g.: infectious disease, plastic surgery, urology, obstetrics and gynecology, endocrinology, gender spectrum voice, etc.) Participate in advocacy opportunities aligned with interest. Engage in community-based participatory research on LGBTQ+ health outcomes.
