About the role

We are looking for a seasoned insurance professional ready to take the next step in their career to join a diverse team of operations professionals supporting a web-based Insurance business unit.

The Operations Manager is the liaison between the underwriters and IT; develops strong partnerships and nurtures a positive business relationship with underwriters to clearly understand their business processes. These activities include maintaining system documentation, supporting application design initiatives, and assisting in discovering the needs of the business unit and translating those requirements to functional specifications. Candidate should constantly be looking for ways to improve processes and maximize the benefits to the business and have a proven record providing direction, motivating, and growing employees to drive high levels of performance.

What you need to know

  • Manage end to end process for projects, large and small and have the prowess to keep pace with business and IT.

  • Excellent radar to sense and predict events and circumstances and keep Stakeholders informed.

  • Exercise strong leadership skills and experience to lead team consisting of experienced and new employees and manage projects successfully.

  • Strong analytical skills, solution assessment and problem-solving skills when making decisions and managing IT projects.

  • Collaborate and work with other teams and members on projects and initiatives, while successfully managing multiple projects.

  • Propose innovative solutions to problems while considering timeliness, effectiveness, and practicality.

  • Manage and perform User Acceptance Testing, create test cases, document test case results/defects with detail.

  • Supervise a team managing a help desk and a web-based insurance portal.

What we’re looking for

  • Understanding of the insurance process, life cycle and lexicon particularly within a structured application development environment.

  • High level/advanced proficiency of Microsoft Office products including Excel and Power Point.

  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and negotiation skills

  • Superior Time Management and multi-tasking capabilities

  • Comfortable with a dynamic environment that has continuously changing priorities

  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision to get projects to completion
