The Pickaway County Clerk of Courts is seeking candidates to fill the full-time position of Deputy Clerk at the Pickaway County Clerk of Court's Legal Office at the pay rate of $16.00 per hour.

 

The position consists of, but is not limited to, serving customers at the counter, answering phone calls, scanning, and filing. The position receives supervision from the Pickaway County Clerk of Courts. The use of independence and discretion in the performance of duties is required. This position requires working at a fast pace and dealing with the public, customer service is our highest priority. Candidates must be able to work flexible hours Monday through Friday and be able to pass a background check.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process all court filings according to Ohio Revised Code requirements
  • Scan documents and maintain court files
  • Prepare and issue forms as requested
  • Serve the counter and assist customers in a timely manner
  • Answer incoming and make outbound calls
  • Correspond and maintain professional relationships with court staff, attorneys, county officials and their staff
  • Efficient in computer skills including Word and Excel and ability to adapt to computerized case management system.
  • Efficient in general office equipment usage
  • Must have excellent customer service skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED and any combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities to perform the work of this job. Other requirements include:

 

  • Must become familiar with departmental policies and procedures, office practices and procedures, county personnel practices and procedures, governmental structure and process, Civil Service laws, Rules and regulations.
  • Must possess the ability to communicate effectively, develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, supervisors, officials and the general public, exercise sound judgment, maintain accurate records and interpret general instructions.
  • Have ability and commitment to work with the public.
