The Sherwin-Williams Company Asst Manager, Payroll- NOAM Region in Cleveland, Ohio

This position is responsible for supervising the NOAM regional payroll business service team to ensure accurate delivery of payroll. The Company's NOAM payroll objectives are to use a shared service delivery model to ensure our in-house team makes accurate and timely payments of all pay to employees, make payroll deductions for taxes, statutory payments, benefits, and other items to respective parties and meet all regulatory payroll related filing requirements. In addition, this individual will participate in the development, implementation, updating and monitoring of a standard set of internal controls over NOAM's region payroll processes to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data related to the payroll function, the protection of Company assets, and the privacy of employee data. Furthermore, this position is also responsible to monitor and make certain the Company is in compliance with all current and future payroll laws and regulations for each Country within the region. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS Ensure our internal team makes accurate and timely preparation of earnings statements and payment of wages for 45,000+ employees and meet all government reporting requirements related to earnings, deductions and taxes. Assist the Sr Manager in resolving complex payroll issues escalated above the payroll staff level. Monitors and reports process performance against KPIs Partnering with regional HR/HRSS and accounting/finance staff responsible for harmonizing and streamlining pay policies and procedures linked to timekeeping, payroll processing and subsequent governmental reporting and filing requirements. Support the Sr Manager to drive process improvement initiatives and implement best practice Supervise, motivate and develop a team of payroll professionals in the shared service center. Identify development opportunities for subordinates related to payroll procedures, system functionality, etc. and provide training, workshops and knowledge sessions quarterly, at a minimum. Build and foster "customer" relationships with key business partners, both internal and external. Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and NOAM government reporting regulations affecting Payroll, Earnings, Deductions and Tax Support integration activities related to payroll in migration, acquisitions and divestiture events for NOAM. POSITION REQUIREMENTS FORMAL EDUCATION: Required: Bachelor's degree Preferred: Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related business administration KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Required: Significant experience with knowledge of all aspects of payroll processes and related systems, including garnishments, benefits, taxes, time & attendance collection for multiple countries (regional exposure). Demonstrated ability to manage, provide direction, and lead a team toward goal achievement. Exceptional written and verbal communications skills. Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution capabilities. Demonstrated ability to manage change and re-engineer processes. Organized, self-motivated, detail oriented, and able to shift priorities. Capability to synthesize and analyze information quickly and make informed decisions. Strong commitment to customer service. Preferred: Project management experience Ceridian Dayforce system experience Additional language skills would be an advantage Experience working for a global and diverse company TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Required: A demonstrated understanding of all aspects of payroll processes and related systems; including, but not limited to, benefits, taxes, and time and attendance collection. The ability to review regulatory publications, understand technical terminology and easily determine the effect pending and/or newly enacted legislation will have on current Department procedures.
