The Salvation Army Miles Park Corps Receptionist in Cleveland, Ohio
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB .
To assist the Corps Officers with the day to day operations of the Corps while supporting and maintaining the policies, procedures, and overall well-being of the ministry of The Salvation Army. To render ministerial outreach and
administrative services as The Receptionist to the Miles Park Community. To support and maintain
the smooth operations of the front office; serve as support staffing for the Corps Family Service Worker.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Order pantry food for weekly or bi-weekly delivery. Place food order to the Cleveland Food Bank two days in advance of your corps delivery date. Food Orders are placed by on-line system.
Oversee food delivery and verify the delivery bill for contents of delivery. Send all food invoices to finance department for payment.
Intake all new clients for their need to participate in the program. Verifying income, residence, children and adults living in the household.
Ongoing re-verification for Food Pantry clients every six months at which time new verifications papers must be collected.
Prepare monthly food pantry statistical reports.
Deal positively with outside vendors, clients and donors, serving as the “voice” of The Salvation Army in the local service area.
Answer telephones; providing client intake and/or forward calls to appropriate staff/voicemails.
Keep your work area clean and tidy. Report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor.
Work cooperatively with Corps Officer(s) and staff to ensure programming coverage.
Do assigned tasks, such as filing, sorting and creation of publicity materials and correspondence.
Assist with administration of seasonal programs (Christmas/Kettles/Back-to-School/Summer Youth).
Perform administration task for other departments as requested by the Corps Officer(s).
Assist Family Intake Worker with related duties when needed, to ensure smooth office operation and program execution.
Assist with proper intake/execution of the Hot Meals program; maintaining accurate attendance/meals counts.
Assist with the execution of youth feeding program activities; working with volunteers as required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma/GED with one to two years related experience
Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task
Knowledge of community resources
Basic Microsoft word, Excel, and data entry skills
SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS- NONE
Background check required for interaction with children.
