Job Description As a Senior Software Test Engineer at Rockwell Automation, you will work with industry-leading commercial software known for its innovation and usability, performing intermediate level software testing tasks including test planning, scheduling, and execution. You will help ensure that developed products meet requirements and are within total quality management standards. You will collaborate with multiple global teams and may also require you to be the test lead of a small-scale feature or portion of a feature. You will also seek knowledge of new developments in the software engineering, computer engineering, and test automation fields and will identify and pursue career development opportunities. You will report to Tech Lead -Software Engineering and will work from our Mayfield Heights Office- Ohio. Essential Functions Collects, contributes to and documents requirements for a feature and its components, ensuring the information required to develop software and corresponding test cases are contained in the specifications. Develop unit test plans. Report, debugs and corrects anomalies. Take the lead in the integration of other components by solving problems across subsystems to produce a final product. Lead reviews of documents, designs, code, test cases and user documentation. Estimates, plans, executes test suites, test cases and automated tests to ensure appropriate functional test coverage is attained. Ensure documented test cases and specifications validate documented software requirements. Perform product testing, reporting on problems encountered and documenting test results for follow-up. Determine the origin and cause of anomalies identified. Build relationships and work with peers to ensure assigned tasks are prioritized. Take the lead on identifying and recommending software development capability improvements in test automation. Improve and be willing to research and explore new avenues by using the latest technologies and standards. Experience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and other partners and convey design concepts, both verbally and in writing. Learn complex control system concepts. The Essentials - You will have Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience. The Preferred : You may have This position typically requires five years of experience in a software product testing or development environment. Direct experience with C++, C#, Python (or other relevant programming languages), and .NET framework. Direct experience with web-based technologies such as HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, NodeJS, and Angular. Apply knowledge of testing integrated software products. Apply knowledge of software test methodologies. Apply knowledge of test automation tools and strategies. Experience with architecting modular software. Direct experience with the Industrial Automation industry. Direct experience collaborating with local and global technical development teams.
