Job Description Engineer - Strategic Accounts Position location is flexible and may office from a branch within the Greater Cleveland, OH Area Full-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 8:00am - 5:00pm OVERVIEW: Working as Full-time Engineer - Strategic Accounts, you will use your technical knowledge to work directly with Fastenal's sales and branch teams to help develop, sell, and implement new fastener opportunities. You will be the primary engineering resource for your Strategic Accounts customers and a prescribed book of business. You will work directly with our customers and the products they produce. RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: oProviding exceptional technical support both internally and externally oMaintaining relationships with our customer's engineering/technical staff o Executing fastener optimization projects, onsite application reviews and application troubleshooting o Developing, implementing and growing large OEM fastener opportunities by supporting customer engineering design changes and new design applications o Serving as the technical liaison between the Fastenal sales team and the customers engineering and quality departments o Leading and assisting in customer product training seminars oIdentifying opportunities for product changes or substitutions that result in improved function and/or cost savings REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: The following skills and qualifications are required for this position: o Possess a current full valid driver's license issued in the country where the job is located (including successful completion of any applicable graduated license program for your state or province) as well as the ability to meet our driving record requirements to use a company vehicle, as needed oPossess or are working towards a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related education OR have previous work experience in the fastener industry oExcellent written and oral communication skills oProficient using Microsoft Office Suite oHighly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented o Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency oDemonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities oComfortable making high level, group sales and product presentations oWillingness to travel 50% or more with some overnights required oDemonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork oPass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY) o Pass a background check, required by a customer/contract serviced by this location ABOUT US: Since 1967 Fastenal has grown as a distributor of industrial and construction supplies from a single branch to a Fortune 500 company with over 3,000 servicing locations, each providing tailored local inventory and personal service for our customers.
