The Brand Growth Manager position exists to grow the FOTF flagship brand and sub-brands externally while acting as the lead brand ambassador and evangelist internally. The Brand Management department is part of our internal agency that also includes Market Research, Creative, Films, and Marketing Operations. This role is instrumental in helping Focus grow its reach and impact as one of the most trusted brands for Christian families today and into the years to come. The position will partner with many teams across the ministry to raise the level of the FOTF brand and strategic sub-brands among our core and aspirational audiences. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role that will also include a position on the Brand Performance Committee with leaders from Marketing, Research, Creative Planning, and others.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Externally Focused:
Understands the nonprofit landscape and which categories FOTF fits within it
Works with the Market Research team to fully understand and represent all FOTF audiences across the ministry
Partners with Marketing, Creative, Social Media, and Content teams to design brand messaging that is compelling to FOTF audiences
Provides information on audience needs and reactions to product development teams
Grows brand awareness and mental availability across all Focus audiences, especially nonusers and light users
Speaks to audiences and encourages them to try Focus content in their lives
Works with Market Research to track brand experiences across Focus audiences
Works with internal and external partners to grow the Focus brand
Regularly reports performance on audience-related metrics to the executive team
Internally Focused:
Is the lead brand ambassador for FOTF, evangelizing the brand throughout the organization
Motivates staff to leverage the brand book as an inspirational guide, not a law book
Works with internal partners to build brand visions into strategy designs
Reinforces core audience media consumption behaviors and preferences across the organization, including using infographics, visuals, datasheets, and other more creative tools
Manages Brand Regulation, including brand training, guidelines, etc.
Consistently tracks progress to goals and against baselines
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
Knows and understands factors which alter our target audiences including demographics, psychographics, lifestyles, preferences, needs, desires, and societal pressures
Performs other duties as assigned
Managerial Breadth/Scope of Job:
Manages and leads a collaborative team to design and implement the annual brand alignment huddle process

Knowledge/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Graphic Design, Advertising, or related field
5-7 years of strategic brand planning experience at a creative consultancy, or creatively driven internal marketing team
Understanding and experience in marketing strategy, brand management, brand architecture, and brand communications
Past experience with a brand launch or re-launch
Demonstrated skills in core areas: business and brand strategy, insights and research, media, and communications planning
Research experience as a client or provider in the areas of primary research (quantitative and qualitative), audience segmentation, leveraging syndicated research, and analyzing media databases
Strong project management background a plus
Skills, Abilities, and Special Talents/Gifts:
Strong knowledge of all aspects of marketing (advertising, branding, digital, product, and services, conference/tradeshow exhibits, etc.)
Knowledge of social listening and digital measurement systems and know how to use them to glean insight into constituent behaviors and digital-consumption patterns with a view to informing brand actions and communications in these spaces
Able to understand a brand on a systems, sub-brand, campaign, and global level
Highly skilled in analyzing complex situations and using a balance of logical and creative thinking to develop innovative solutions
Skilled at navigating ambiguity within a dynamic and fluid environment
High EQ coupled with a good sense of humor and ability to positively influence others
Proven ability to prioritize work and resources across engagements based on short- and long-term need, managing timelines, budgets, and capacity
Direct client interaction experience with the ability to build relationships, understand client vision/direction and present designs and concepts
Curious, creative, flexible, proactive, and ambitious
Salary Range: $76,956 to $88,398/yr
