The Job: We are seeking a Lead Electrical BIM Designer to work as an integral part of the industrial and commercial facilities team in our Denver, Colorado office. You may be a good fit for this job if you have an interest in electrical systems and experience in designing electrical systems using Revit. The Lead Electrical BIM Designer produces electrical / instrumentation & controls (I&C) design drawings and documents in Revit as part of the overall electrical and I&C engineering team. Typical tasks include creation and drafting of high-quality electrical layouts in Revit; population of panelboard schedules; creation of one-line and control diagrams; sizing of feeders and electrical equipment; creation of lighting designs including selection of light fixtures and associated switching/circuiting; process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs); network diagrams, panel layouts; and control schematics. The Electrical Designer will coordinate with other engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Plumbing, Civil, etc.) to produce coordinated designs, including creation of coordinated electrical/mechanical equipment schedules. Reviews of submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs, and occasional construction field observation may be requir The Lead Electrical BIM Designer will work with senior electrical BIM team members and electrical and I&C engineers and may mentor junior electrical BIM designers. The role provides opportunities for professional growth and stimulation through projects in multiple markets including water/wastewater, federal/National Park Service, mining, data center/mission-critical, commercial buildings, health care, and higher educatio Project assignments are expected to be primarily in the Colorado/Rocky Mountain area, although assignment to projects located in other geographies is possible. Travel is not a routine element of this position. The Team: You will join a rapidly growing Electrical and Instrumentation & Control team in Colorado. We work as an integrated team fluidly supporting complex engineering projects across a wide range of industries. The majority of our team is based in our Denver office and we offer flexible work schedules and locations. #LI-LA1 Qualifications Required Qualifications: Associate or technical school degree, electrical engineering or architectural engineering degree. Working knowledge of the Revit platform. 3 years of experience using Revit for electrical design at an architectural/engineering firm. Experience designing electrical systems for commercial or institutional facilities using Revit. Experience as a model-element author using Revit. Command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Interpersonal skills and professional demeanor appropriate for interacting with clients, other design professionals, and colleagues. Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail. An attitu e and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must. Preferred Qualifications (in addition to Required Qualifications): Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code as applied to commercial facilities. Experience as a Revit model manager. Knowledge and experience in creating lighting models. Experience in healthcare, commercial facilities, and/or industrial facilities. Experience with an architectural/engineering firm is highly desirable. Ability and willingness teach/mentor junior electrical BIM designers. LEED AP and/or Envision SP credentials are a plus.
