SAIC Space Ground Based Systems Engineer in COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado

SAIC is seeking a Space Ground-Based Systems Engineer to pioneer orbital range solutions in support of Operational Test and Training Infrastructure (OTTI) and the National Space Test and Training Complex (NSTTC) in Colorado Springs, CO . The Space Ground-Based Systems Engineer will help lead a team of multi-disciplined engineers and program managers to coordinate with government and partner orbital warfare and space operations experts across the US Space Force (USSF) to develop ground-based orbital range solutions focused on capabilities-based requirements and architectures, manage technical baseline processes and documentation, and respond to mission requirements for test and training purposes. We are looking for self-motivated, enthusiastic people who are excited about taking on a variety of challenges as we continue to develop a test and training enterprise solution and support the USSF and Joint warfighting community. Successful candidates will be able to work under only very general supervision. Occasional travel may be required to engage with key stakeholders.
Responsible for:
Co-Leads teams' cross-functional and cross-discipline effort(s) to create MBSE models of systems. Aids system architect in creating architectures across disciplines to meet program objectives. Able to add detail to short, medium, and long term architectural visions, put together purchase plans, roadmaps, and sparing and obsolescent equipment replacement plans
Coordinate Government activities and contractor, sub-contractor, and vendor oversight efforts throughout the system life cycle
Perform and oversee concept of test and training event planning, requirements definition and capture, analysis and engineering, system analysis, and design
Understand system interfaces and data source integration and develop network plans
Oversee validation and verification, systems integration, system & operational performance analysis, lifecycle cost analysis & estimation, decision analysis, and physical configuration analysis (PCA)
Perform and oversee functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software or engineering specifications
Qualifications
This is you:
Bachelor Degree with 14+ years of space ground sensors engineering experience (4 additional years of experience may be used in lieu of degree), including experience with:
Ground-based Radars and Optics observing spaced-based objects
Ground-based sensor operations
Working across organizations to achieve project goals
Satellite operations
Advising customer leadership on: acquisition strategies for next-generation systems; program execution issues and recommendations; strategic messaging to key operational and acquisition government, industry, and media stakeholders
Must have an in-scope security background investigation (T5 or SSBI), adjudicated for SCI eligibility and enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation program (if applicable)
Must be willing to be nominated for access to Sensitive Compartment Information and Special Access Programs and willing to consent to a Polygraph examination
Desired Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Engineering or related field
Understanding of model-based and/or software engineering tools and practices
Demonstrable experience with DoD or NRO space and ground systems engineering
Understanding of DoD and USSF range operations, standards, and policies
Professional certifications (e.g., INCOSE CSEP, SAFe, OMG)
Target salary range: $175,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
