Huntington National Bank ABL Field Examiner Sr in Columbus, Ohio

This is a remote position. Candidate must be in Ohio, Michigan, Pittsburgh Area, or Minnesota.

Travel is approximately 50%.

Summary:

The ABL Field Examiner Sr. takes charge of and performs complex new business and cyclical field examinations and succinctly reporting the findings to Huntington personnel along with making recommendations, if applicable, to improve either the structure or reporting requirements of the facility based upon the findings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Presents written report to all levels of personnel both in and out of line of business.

  • Facilitates the audit process utilizing Data Mining software and/or Excel to analyze accounts receivable aging, accounts payable aging and inventory that is securing the line of credit.

  • Completes audits independently with minimal supervision.

  • Performs due diligence with regard to current and prospective customers to determine the quality of assets securing the working capital line of credit.

  • Detects and presents internal credit and control deficiencies and documentation of the deficiencies.

  • Performs in depth analysis of accounts receivable, inventory and accounts payable along with financial statement review.

  • Additional review of all general ledger accounts is required to recognize accounts that may potentially offset the collateral securing the Bank’s line of credit.

  • Inventory validation will require counting a random sampling of items located in the clients’ warehouse.

  • Prepares a formal, written audit report documenting audit findings and recommendations to senior management, RCO’s and managers on customers’ collateral coverage, internal controls and financial positions.

  • Discusses report findings with managers and committees as requested.

  • Meets with senior management to develop a customized audit plan on new and prospective customers.

  • Identifies procedural enhancements to Bank’s exam process and risk identification.

  • Utilizes expertise and judgement to adapt, expand and/or change the scope of the exam as circumstances warrant.

  • Ensures that recurring exams are performed within the allotted budgets.

  • Assists in training new personnel; not only the field exam staff but also Collateral Analysts.

  • To provide the best collateral monitoring practices, the field exam staff must work with Operations and this will include training and/or helping the staff with the proper calculation of ineligibles and explaining the reporting documentation.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 3+ years of audit and/or financial reporting experience

  • 2+ years of ABL experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Work experience should include 5-7 years of collateral field exam and/or internal audit experience
