Staff RN Critical Care- PACU Room Requisition ID 2024-52155 Category Nursing Overview Not open to new grads, ADN nurses with clinical experience will be considered. Full time, Non-traditional D/N hours. (Approx. 6 weeks of nights / 18 weeks of days) 10-hour shifts On call required in addition to full time hours for some weekends and typically only one holiday 30-minute response time required while on call. Minimum hourly rate:$34.00 Please read below for additional details: Our standard orientation for new graduates is usually 16 -20 weeks and includes simulation, self-study time, observational experiences, skills labs, and most importantly 1 on 1 time with a preceptor. Experienced nurses will have orientation tailored to their needs. Our unit has an Educational Nurse Specialist and Nurse Educator that will work with you and your preceptor throughout orientation. New RN Graduates are also offered a Nurse Residency program, for support through the transition from school to bedside nursing. * The POST-ANESTHESIA CARE UNIT is a highly specialized critical care area of the hospital that cares for all age groups, including select adults, during their recovery from general anesthesia. * Our patient population is expanse and includes both inpatient and ambulatory patients from the operating rooms, heart catheterization labs, several radiology modalities, and procedures rooms. * Common services include Otolaryngology, Orthopedics, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, Ophthalmology, Urology and Cardiology. * The average daily census for the several PACU locations we serve is typically around 100. * The average length of stay is 1 hour; however, it could vary from 15 minutes to several hours depending on the patient acuity. * Our staff to patient ratio is typically 1:1 but may be 1:2 based on age and stage of recovery. Assists patients to move rapidly, uneventfully, and as effectively as possible through their episode of care while maintaining quality and safety as a priority. Delegates, directs, oversees and provides developmentally appropriate patient care. Practices professional nursing and promotes patient advocacy in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses and maintains a current Ohio Nursing License. Why Nationwide Children's Hospital?
