Staff RN - PICU H2B Requisition ID 2024-50992 Category Nursing Overview Available Shifts: Day/Night Rotating Shift OR Straight Night Shift: (7:00pm-7:30am). 36 hours per week available (0.9 FTE). Every other weekend required and Holiday rotation. Benefits Eligible. Position starts at $34.00 an hour plus shift and weekend differentials. Pay to commensurate with experience. $2.00/hr pay increase upon successful completion of department orientation. $10,000 sign on bonus (2 year commitment) for Nurses with one year ICU experience H2B PICU Fast Facts: 29 beds H2B PICU provides multidisciplinary care for critically ill patients ranging from infants to young adults. We care for high acuity patients with a vast variety of conditions, including trauma, burn, transplant, respiratory, surgical, neurological, endocrinological, renal, oncological, neurosurgical, sepsis, and other various medical conditions. Nurse to patient ratio is 1:1 or 1:2, depending on the acuity and needs of the patient. We function as a collaborative, multidisciplinary team working together to provide best possible care and outcomes to our patients and families. We implement bedside rounds twice daily, inclusive of the multidisciplinary team and families. Creating a safe day every day is a core NCH value which we adhere to every day. Responsibilities 1. Provides nursing care using a Family Centered approach. 2. Assesses individualized patient needs. 3. Communicates patient care needs and priorities to assigned Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Patient Care Assistants (PCAs), Unit Coordinators, and Allied Health personnel. 4. Plans, implements, educates and evaluates care using Evidence-Based Practices. 5. Utilizes Therapeutic Communication while monitoring the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients and families. 6. Engages in the 'workplace community' by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and representing staff at relevant meetings and then reporting important information and updates back to staff. 7.
