Job Summary

We are currently seeking a STEM Project Specialist . This position is located in Ohio .

Provides logistical support to the Ohio STEM Learning Network in the areas of Computer Science Education and the Statewide Design Challenge. Supports network communications through social media posts and website event management. Coordinates and assists in the management of a variety of projects, while providing support to management in achieving the goals of the Battelle Philanthropy and Education team.

Candidate should be organized, detail oriented, able to provide professional office support, and proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. This position will support the Ohio STEM Learning Network Director and STEM Relationship Managers.

Responsibilities

  1. Logistical supports for Computer Science Education Programs and the Statewide Design Challenge
  • Works closely with management to achieve the goals of the Battelle Education team and completes deliverables in accordance with project timelines.

  • Manages logistics for program events and application process including the day-to-day correspondents with program participants.

  • Prepares materials supporting programs and coordinates professional development and event plans with management and key partners.

  • Acquires space and resources to meet project needs (space, catering, workshop materials

  • Manages the events page on the website.

  • Creates ongoing social media content to reinforce core messages.

  • Ensures that brand standards are consistent through all produced materials.

Key Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree with experience managing projects or events.

  • Highly adaptable within a collaborative work environment.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, interpersonal, organizational, motivational and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong computer skills.

  • A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of projects concurrently.

  • Self-starter, able to work independently as well as with a team.

  • Knowledge and understanding of current trends and issues in education and business.

  • Travel to support clients and contracts (up to 20%).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the state and national landscape of STEM and/or computer science education preferred.

  • Prefer candidate with 2+ years of experience organizing projects or events.
