Position Summary: Responsible for engineering design using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments. U.S. Residency Required. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Perform alternative studies Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects Perform design computations Design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools Develop construction cost estimates Assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities Perform other related duties as assigned Work in a team environment as well as individually Required Experience Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from ABET accredited engineering program Proficient in discipline specific design software (e.g. Merlin Dash, AASHTO BrR, OpenBridge) Proficient in Microsoft Office Experience working in MicroStation Written and oral communication skills Minimum 2 years of experience Engineer-in-training certification Experience working with local clients at the county and state level Preferred Experience Master's degree in civil engineering Experience in structural analysis software (e.g. CSiBridge, Midas, etc.) Bridge Level 1 certification Bridge inspector certification Ohio Professional Engineer License Working Conditions JMT recognizes our employees face many factors when it comes to selecting the best work location, and we are passionate about providing options and flexibility.
