This is an analytical and process driven role with the primary focus of improving Revenue Cycle Patient Access Services processes and operational outcomes by combining healthcare experience and background to bring world class results in Revenue Cycle Patient Access Services and end-to-end Revenue Cycle Management and partnerships.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide revenue cycle management services in all areas of revenue cycle patient access operations which may include:
Patient access (scheduling, pre-registration, insurance verification, financial counseling)
Registration/Admission (ED, inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory)
Patient financial services (pre-billing, billing, follow-up, account resolution)
Decision support and analytics
Productivity and quality management
Understand key revenue cycle patient access metrics and performance indicators and provide reporting of operational and financial performance
Evaluate and interpret data to monitor performance, identify trends and determine root cause issues
Able to communicate effectively (written and verbal) findings of analyses and audits to support operation and financial decisions
Collaborate with partner revenue cycle teams to facilitate resolution of process issues and implement world-class solutions
Serve as a resource for special projects and priority analysis assignments
Effective at working at both a data detail level and a strategic thinking level
Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
Analyze and interpret reports on metrics associated with goals and objectives
Perform data validation to ensure accuracy and quality
Patient Access Systems specialist/liaison including process oversight, technology improvements/system enhancements (EPIC, AccuReg, Salucro)
Project responsibilities may include:
Analyzing large data sets and identifying and interpreting patterns and trends in the data
Evaluating business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and making recommendations to
Various stakeholders
Communicating project status regularly with manager
Writing reports including summarization of project objectives, approach, and results

Required Qualifications:
2+ years of work experience in Revenue Cycle Management Patient Access Services, preferably with data analysis and data interpretation
1+ years of business or data analysis experience
Expert level Excel (pivot tables, ability to develop macros, nested formulas, if/then statements, TEXTJOIN, VLOOKUP’s)
Minimally intermediate level proficiency with Access, Word and PowerPoint
Ability to travel within the network to various facilities
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare, or related field and/or 4+ years of equivalent work experience
Experience with EPIC
Experience in business intelligence visualization tools (Mede/Analytics, Tableau, Qlik, Health Catalyst, Alteryx, etc.)
Solid analytical and organizational skills
Intuitive and skilled at problem solving
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Effective presentation skills and ability to facilitate meetings with senior leadership both internally and externally
Ability to work in a fast paced and deadline driven environment

New York Residents Only: The hourly range for this role is $28.03 to $54.95 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
