Position Summary:

This position provides management oversight for activities of the global distribution center including inventory and bulk shipping both domestically and internationally.

DAY SHIFT: Tuesday to Friday 7:00am – 5:30pm

Essential Roles:

  • The following duties and responsibilities are intended to be representative of the work performed by the incumbent(s) in this position and are not all-inclusive. The omission of a specific duty or responsibility will not preclude it from the position.

  • Participates in development of Distribution strategy, mission and its implementation under the guidance of the Director of Distribution.

  • Ensures the selection, orientation, development, and retention of a sufficient number of qualified staff to carry out the responsibilities of the distribution center.

  • Develops and manages key performance indicators.

  • Manages the receipt, storage, and distribution of multiple division products.

  • Supports Regional Sterilization by moving released finished goods.

  • Addresses questions from auditors such as ISO, FDA, Division, and Corporate.

  • Ensures optimization of operations through focused, continuous improvement.

  • Analyzes root cause of any internal or external customer complaint; ensures corrective process taken

  • Ships customer orders consistently within acceptable time frames (same day for STS shipments and 24-48 hour turn-around on all other orders).

  • Maintains high level of accuracy of inventory.

  • Ensures shipping compliance with carrier and transportation regulations, working with third party logistics vendor

  • Provides oversight and manages GDC safety program and GMP/QSR compliance as requested.

  • Develops subordinates in the areas of GMP/QSR, SOP, World Class Principles, Safety, Housekeeping and Ergonomics.

  • Manages the planning and execution of physical inventories for area of responsibility.

  • Ensures all SOP’s and Policies are functionally accurate and all associates are thoroughly trained and 100% compliant.

  • Participates on Bard project teams.

  • Provides a work environment that promotes open communication and Bard's values of Quality, Integrity, and Service.

  • Manages Facilities and Security of the GDC as requested.

  • Owns and manages several vendor/supplier relationships.

  • Must be able to manage across different shifts and operations.

  • Must take safety first and be able to work diligently to maintain safe working conditions and to adhere to proper operating practices and procedure designed to prevent injuries and illnesses.

  • Responsible for following Good Documentation Practices (GDP) as outlined in SOP.

  • Regular and reliable attendance at work.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understands and efficiently uses basis computer hardware and software to convey and retrieve information.

  • Knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods by air, rail, sea or road.

  • Operational experience in FDA, OSHA, GMP/QSR compliance, CPIM, Logistics or Distribution, Process Excellence, Lean and ISO.

  • Knowledge of JD Edwards, Highjump, MFG/Pro, PC literate, able to work with basic computer software programs (Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel).

  • Ability to perform/operate in a metrics-driven environment

  • Excellent leadership skills

  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written

  • Strong leadership, negotiation and influence management skills with ability to function effectively at all levels across multiple organizations.

  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects (programs) simultaneously

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with an in-depth understanding to transportation and logistics.

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex issues and programs to all levels of the organization.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum 5- 7 years’ supervisory experience in a fast-paced distribution and/or manufacturing environment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.

  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.

  • Expresses information clearly, information is organized in a logical manner; speaks using proper grammar, tone and pace.

  • Practices meaningful two-way communication.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Performs basic math computations accurately; uses appropriate mathematical formulas and techniques.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Possesses sufficient inductive and deductive reasoning ability to successfully perform job; critically reviews, analyzes, synthesizes, compares and interprets information and applies this when solving problems.

  • Identifies connections between issues and changes direction when working on multiple projects or issues.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Employee may be required to sit, bend, stoop, stand, walk, use keyboard, see, talk and hear.

  • May occasionally lift objects up to 75 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Requires working in very hot (above 90 degrees F) or very cold (below 32 degrees F) temperatures.

  • Requires working indoors in non-controlled environmental conditions.

  • Job tasks are performed in close physical proximity to other people.
