This position consists of working one-on-one in a home-like setting with children ages 6 to 18 years old on the weekends. Staff will be responsible for care of and activities for the child, while maintaining safety. We are seeking individuals who enjoy working with children, whom are flexible, dependable and would like to earn extra money while doing something rewarding!

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Will work in a group setting with children and youth who have been diagnosed with a Severe Emotional Disturbance, providing supervision, structure, and safety at all times. Will assist patients in developing skills necessary to function and maintain on their own in various community settings. Position will be considered PRN (as needed) staff with possibility of being called to cover crisis admissions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Provide one-on-one supervision, safety and structure to patients with Severe Emotional Disturbances at Kids Konnection
  2. Use of \"Nonviolent Physical Crisis Intervention system of care to provide care, welfare, safety and security to patients at all times, including the use of physical management techniques with patients of all sizes, ages 6-18 and exceeding weights of 120-170 lbs, if not larger.
  3. Provide objective and clear documentation on the overall progress of patients in the program.
  4. Implement treatment goals as stated in the childs individual treatment plan.
  5. Communicate regularly with patients, their families and their educational staff.
  6. Transport patients as required by their treatment plan.
  7. Preparing healthy meals for youth admitted to the crisis house.
  8. Return phone calls and emails within 24 hours of receiving.
  9. Provides a warm, stable, secure, and positive environment for the youth while the youth is admitted to the crisis house.
  10. Demonstrate flexibility and dependability in performance of duties.
  11. Attends required agency and departmental meetings and/or trainings.

CRISIS RATES:

  • Level 1- \$15 (meets criteria to bill Basic Crisis Intervention)- Have an AA/AS degree or two years of equivalent education and/or experience working in the human services field.
  • Level 2- \$25 (meets criteria to bill intermediate crisis intervention) - Have at least a BA/BS degree or be equivalently qualified by work experience or a combination of work experience in the human services field and education with one year of experience substituting for one year of education.
  • Level 3- \$35 (meets criteria to bill intermediate crisis intervention)-Must be a QMHP as defined by the state plan or PAHP-designated LMHP with experience regarding this specialized mental health service, practicing within the scope of their professional license.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Exhibit and promote decisions / behavior consistent with the Centers established Vision, Mission, and Values.
  • Any deviations to the work schedule and all overtime must be approved in advance.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
