We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Finance Manager within our Finance team to help support our Hydraulics business. Over the last 45 years, PHC has built a reputation as a world-class hydraulic cylinder manufacturer through our superior quality control and innovation. PHC is a leading supplier of hydraulic cylinders for material handling, construction, agriculture, and transportation markets. If you join our team, your work will ensure customers across the world have high-quality products they can use to keep their businesses running.

As a Finance Manager you will:

  • Management of monthly site financial accounts through to trial balance and submission to Corporate in Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)

  • Management of accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

  • Management of month end close process including journals, balance sheet reconciliations and review of results

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and provision of analysis to site

  • Preparation of reporting submissions for Corporate including trial balance and foreign currency analyses

  • Preparation of quarterly analysis to Corporate including summary tax analyses and data required for consolidation

  • Preparation of monthly forecasts including:

  • Material costs based on sales forecast from Sales Manager

  • Headcount and wages costs

  • Other costs and capital expenditure

  • Ensuring compliance with statutory, Corporate and internal policies and procedures, including Sarbanes Oxley controls within the finance department and, in an advisory capacity, within other areas

  • Management of external and internal audits

  • Provision of data for the statutory accounts

  • Provision of analysis for, and review of, tax computations

  • Management of the audit teams and communication with Corporate

  • Liaison with, and provision of data to, external bodies such as the Life Assurance scheme, Pension scheme, HMRC VAT (including quarterly VAT returns)

  • Support and development of direct reports

    To be successful you'll need:

  • Qualified accountants degree (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)

  • 5 + years in a financial role post qualification

  • Experience of financial close, internal controls, VAT, foreign currency (preferred), accounting standards, taxation, external audit, internal audit (preferred)

  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly excel (ability to manage and analyse large data sets, lookups, pivot tables, etc)

  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills

  • Ability to manage own time and that of the finance team

  • Communication skills
