Job Title: Manufacturing EngineerJob Description

Millwork Engineers assure that solutions are engineered and released on time to meet customers’ timelines, and that work is released to production in a way that allows seamless and timely manufacturing. Our engineers develop and coordinate effective and code-compliant millwork solutions in a team with company Project Managers and other Engineering personnel. Responsibilities include interpreting construction drawings to build products/parts with 3D AutoCAD for machining joinery and hardware, assessing drawings to determine the proper starting product for new custom products, and assigning proper materials to products. Additionally, engineers will prepare construction information (drawings, cut lists, BOM) for programming, machining, and assembly operations, work with internal and external project teams to interpret design intent, prepare approval drawings for customer sign-off, and provide accurate material lists and takeoffs. They will also escalate cost overage situations to the project manager and provide alternatives.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Dallas, Georgia.

Work Environment

The work environment involves going over the plan with the team in the first 10-15 minutes, spending an hour or two answering emails and being the SME for any questions, and checking back with the team to ensure things are on schedule. Engineers will spend 40-60% of their time on production drawings and work within a team of 4, delegating projects to the right teams. Projects involve internal needs, repeat customers, and new needs, working with the sales team and project managers. The role involves less than 5% client interaction.
