Nexstar Media Group Digital Content Producer in Dallas, Texas

KDAF CW33 Dallas/Ft. Worth, Market #5 seeks an experienced Digital Content Producer to create content for our world of online content. You’ll be given day-to-day control over creating FUN lifestyle online content in the 5th largest market in the country.

This role is responsible for updating our local website, curating high-performing content, crafting homepage layouts driven by data, and helping to report evergreen, fun, lifestyle-driven content. This role will work on building a loyal local audience by being responsive to traffic patterns and audience interest while serving as a steward of our brands.

You will work directly with the Digital Executive Producer along with the Creative Services Director and the entire content team at KDAF/CW33 to produce fun, lifestyle content on your own and alongside our upbeat shows over the air.

Position Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, and curate a daily, steady stream of interesting web content that is packaged and promoted in a way that generates engagement and repeat site visitation

  • Excellent at writing headlines that grow audience and engagement

  • Understand different ways to tell a story, particularly producing short videos and choosing great photos

  • Work alongside the content team and sales to build webpages to promote offerings from clients we cover on our lifestyle shows

  • Communicate with the sales team on opportunities with clients to expand on possibility to further use our services

  • Monitor all forms of media (print, TV, digital, blogs and social) and always be on the hunt for exclusive and/or trending content that will grow engagement and drive loyal, local traffic

  • Prioritize packaging content that grows page views per visitor and time on site, using headline testing, metric tools and observed patterns to guide decision making

  • Evaluate website traffic trends to make decisions on both daily content needs and longer-term content curation that will grow a local audience

  • Build positive working relationships with broadcast staff and management, work collaboratively on enterprise content, and creating opportunities to market web content on broadcast

Skills & Requirements

  • Promote and distribute news content on CW33 social media

  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and AP Style

  • Web design (Homepage, Articles, Custom HTML, etc.)

  • Great communication skills with those in and outside our organization

  • Enjoys working with a creative foot forward

  • Experience in digital content and journalism

  • Clever headline writer that gets readers to click

  • Strong multi-tasking abilities

  • Organized, technical problem solver and quick decision maker

  • Capable of researching, interviewing, and writing original news articles

  • Enjoys working in teams and has excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ease with/ability to learn new technology independently and quickly

  • Strong communicator

  • Regularly meets measurements of success

Software Requirements:

  • Video editing software including Premiere Pro; After Effects or Adobe Express experience a plus

  • Wordpress experience

  • Design software including Adobe Creative Cloud or Canva a plus

  • Understanding of Adobe Analytics and Chartbeat experience a plus

Complete duties as assigned Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or Mass Communications or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
