Here’s the Gist:

Wolfspeed is seeking Facilities Technicians (Electrical, Mechanical, Controls, and Operator roles) to join the Facilities team in Farmers Branch supporting 24/7 semiconductor manufacturing operations. We want you to apply your relevant expertise to a challenging work environment where you can make a real difference in the day-to-day operations of a high-tech electronics and semiconductor manufacturing operation. You will be able to solve complex problems with little supervision, allowing you to make decisions on how and when a project is completed.

  

The Day-to-Day:

  • Utilize control systems to monitor equipment within the factory, review system trends, respond to alarms and other urgent facility situations, and troubleshoot operational parameters that fall outside of normal operating parameters
  • Use a CMMS system to perform and ensure maintenance is completed and documented
  • Implement, write, review, and use standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensure accurate records are maintained of daily work activities, maintenance, system health, and critical parameters by ensuring documentation and drawings are always kept up to date
  • Utilize root cause analysis to determine failure causes and implement preventive actions to mitigate future system issues
  • Support the 24/7 Facilities operations team
  • Provide support for new facilities and manufacturing equipment installation, startup, commissioning, and sustaining operations
  • Follow established environmental, health, safety, and facilities operational processes and procedures to ensure risks are mitigated and work is completed safely and reliably

Discipline specific responsibilities:

Electrical:

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and install, electrical systems and equipment, including but not limited to VFDs, MCCs, motors, UPSs, and breakers. 
  • Knowledge of electrical standards and code (NFPA70B, NFPA 70E)

Mechanical:

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and install, mechanical systems and equipment, including but not limited to HVAC equipment, chillers, cooling towers, boilers, RO/DI water systems, industrial wastewater, and pumps

Controls:

  • Troubleshoot programming and system faults for plant equipment and modify existing programs to improve sequencing, add/modify/remove alarms, and aide in improved troubleshooting and error response within the plant PLCs, HMIs, and automated systems
  • Perform calibrations of Flow, Level, Temperature, Pressure, and Humidity Transmitters using approved test and calibrated equipment
  • Work with cross discipline team members to correct deficiencies and issues in systems across the site.
  • Understand, troubleshoot, and perform PID loop tuning and adjustments
  • Read and comprehend blueprints and electrical control panel schematics

Operators:

  • Monitor ensure preventive maintenance is complete, and operate the operation of HVAC equipment, hydronic systems including chilled, heating, heat recovery, and wastewater systems, compressed air, medium voltage electrical distribution, among over various exhaust systems
  • Respond and troubleshoot various types of alarms including, Temperature, humidity, air/water pressures, and water levels etc.
  • Respond to emergencies such as water leaks and power issues
  • Start and stop equipment as well as maintain facility operation utilizing SCADA, work with computers and software to include Microsoft Office suite of products
  • These positions will work a compressed 12-hour shift (day or night)

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements): 

  • 3 years of industrial maintenance related experience or a combination of education, technical degree, or certificates
  • Use of computerized CMMS and building management systems / SCADA to maintain and troubleshoot facilities equipment
  • Must be able to work safely, use all personal protective equipment and attend training as required by OSHA and job requirements
  • Communicate and document clearly (verbal and written) and ability to work from verbal and written instructions, manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, piping and instrument diagrams, work orders and specifications
  • Must be an assertive self-starter who can work with minimal supervision and direction.
  • Must be able to work in a 24 hour on-call situations. 
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment
  • Ability to work in repetitive motions and pressure involving fingers, hands, and wrists, includes standing or walking over hard concrete surface, and climbing ladders

This position requires the lawful ability to access technical data, information, and areas controlled by United States export control laws and regulations
