Job Description

AECOM is seeking Project Manager IV – Horizontal Construction to be based in North-East Dallas, Texas

Project Manager - Horizontal Construction

This position will serve on a Municipal Program in northeast Dallas in the role of Owners Representative assisting in managing one or more project(s) in the design and construction phases. Projects will include roadway and utility projects as well as other public infrastructure and facilities.

The Project Manager will:

  • Manage one or more project(s) acting as an Owner’s Representative as part of a program management team for a municipal client.

  • Oversee all aspects of the project(s) and ensure all facets of the project(s) are fully coordinated through all phases including planning, design, procurement, construction, and closeout.

  • Manage third party consultants, contractors, and inspectors.

  • Serve as a liaison between client personnel and all stakeholders including the public/resident regarding project activities, including planning, scheduling, and overall project status.

  • Negotiate with consultants and contractors on pricing and contractual issues on behalf of the client.

  • Apply engineering and management principles to develop effective solutions.

  • Apply knowledge of design and/or construction industry to prepare meeting minutes and progress reports, review and process invoices and pay applications, and review and analyze designs, cost estimates, and schedules.

  • Perform field visits to local construction project sites for quality assurance observations, to evaluate general conformance with engineering plans and specifications, and to monitor progress.

  • Assist in coordinating with the owner and designers as needed for quick resolutions to Request for Information (RFI) from contractors related to design, constructability, and material issues.

  • Assist in the resolution of design and/or construction issues.

  • Assist in the review of change orders and claims (cost/extension of time) submitted by contractors.

  • Apply knowledge of applicable health and safety requirements and knowledge of local government, client, and industry codes, regulations, and standards governing design and construction

projects in their respective field for successful delivery of clients’ projects.

  • Apply QA/QC requirements to own work and work of project team

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS plus minimum 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Valid Driver’s license required

  • Must be able to successfully pass client background check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction, or engineering, plus 8 years of relevant experience

  • Knowledge of design and/or construction of horizontal projects

  • Industry certifications such as CCM or PMP or ability to obtain within 1 year

  • PE license a plus

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Experience in Bluebeam Revu, Projectmates or other PMIS, preferred

  • Requires project and client management experience including management of multiple projects.

  • Experienced in Program Management.

Additional Information

  • This will be a Monday-Friday on-site position with occasional after hours and weekend work. This will not be a hybrid or remote position.

  • Sponsorship is not available for this position

  • Position will office from the client site and/or construction site.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $95,000.00 - $160,000.00.
