Summary

Centralized Business Office Educator is responsible for leading, analyzing designing, developing, operationalizing, and maintaining successful education programs for Nuvance Health, as well as researching and aligning educational resources with strategic focus areas. In addition to planning and leading Centralized Business office [CBO] training initiatives, this individual’s responsibilities also include monitoring quality and performance metrics, keeping the CBO Leadership apprised of results, and using data to identify and develop targeted opportunities for staff development in all areas of the CBO.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with the CBO Leadership to drive the development of accurate, relevant, and effective training programs. Create, develop, and maintain detailed workflow job aides including but not limited to Viso Workflow’s, PDF and PowerPoint presentations.

  • Provides group and one-on-one targeted training for new hires as well as current staff in response to performance deficiencies and promotes a collaborative environment by addressing issues in a constructive and initiative-taking manner.

  • Evaluates the training progress and competency of each trainee.

  • Provides regular feedback to managers/supervisors concerning the trainee’s progress.

  • Trains staff in utilizing systems, applications applicable to their job duties as well as e-learning technology and web-based educational offerings.

  • Recognizes training opportunities and actively participates in improvement plans.

  • Develops in-depth knowledge of educational resources and determines how resources can best support training initiatives.

  • Trains all staff on the designated education checklist roster for the four main categories: Trainee, Novice, Proficient and Expert; in addition to specific patient accounting pillars of responsibility: Billing, Follow-up, Variances, Denials, Credits, Cash Applications, Customer Service.

  • Plans, coordinates, and leads internal in-services and educational programming for revenue cycle staff in all Revenue Cycle functions and other areas identified as necessary.

  • Keeps abreast of developments and changes in subject areas, teaching resources and methods; and makes relevant changes to instructions plans and products.

  • Creates training tools and staff assessment materials necessary for all Revenue Cycle components and keeps apprised of industry standards and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

  • Ensures staff maintain departmental education requirements as needed or expected of their role and remains up to date on changes—whether internally or within the industry at large—affecting their job functions.

  • Maintain and Model Nuvance Health Values.

  • Demonstrates regular, dependable, and predictable attendance.

  • Performs other duties as required

Education Skills Experience

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree required in business, healthcare management, education, or related field OR equivalent experience.

  • A minimum of five years job-related healthcare experience.

  • General understanding of the revenue cycle process

  • Advanced critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to simplify and communicate concepts to a variety of individuals.

Preferred Experience : Visio, PDF Creation, PowerPoint, MS Word, Excel, etc. to create training material and presentations.
