Summary

LesserEvil is an innovative, healthy-snacks brand looking to add to our growing team. In this position as the Facilities and Maintenance Manager, youll directly lead and manage all maintenance staff and activities at all LesserEvil locations focusing on a comprehensive Preventative Maintenance Program.

This individual will report to the General Manager of Operations and Production.

Schedule

Generally Monday-Friday but with the nature of a 24-hour/6 days a week facility, there are times when early, overnight and weekend hours are necessary.

There is an expectation that you will be available off shift for phone calls when emergencies arise.

Role/Responsibilities

  • Oversee and lead the Maintenance Team and maintenance activities, including:
  • Overall equipment performance, including repairs, reactive maintenance and installations.
  • Scheduling preventive maintenance activities and equipment upgrades.
  • Assigning, mentoring and developing the maintenance team staff that supports 24 coverage in alignment with operating hours for the company.
  • Working with the parts clerk to maintain a comprehensive tool and spare parts inventory.
  • Overseeing facility performance at all locations, i.e. production facilities, warehouses, office, etc.
  • Using current reporting software, minimizing overall equipment downtime.
  • Managing site visits from contractors and outside vendors.
  • Acting as a project manager for all new equipment installations.
  • Directly managing all maintenance software systems.
  • Maintaining machine and equipment manuals.
  • Creating and maintaining training programs and basic troubleshooting guidelines for floor staff and maintenance technicians.
  • Overseeing and managing all safety standards and protocol for all equipment in alignment with the companys Safety Manager.
  • Recommends improvements to reduce cost and drive productivity within the department.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Upholding LesserEvils safety standards and making sure all operational guidelines are met.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned and special projects as designated.

Qualifications

  • 5-7+ years experience as a Maintenance Manager, Technical Manager, Facilities Manager, Plant Manager, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years experience in a leadership role with 3 or more direct reports, preferred
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving skills and ability to diagnose problems and recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Ability to analyze electrical and mechanical problems and devise and carry out effective plans for repair.
  • Ability to communicate technical information.
  • Ability to make decisions based in real time to solve issues with the least amount of downtime.
  • Ability to communicate with management and employees in addressing equipment issues.
  • Ability to report, record and communicate job duties and responsibilities as needed.
  • Proficient in using email, MS Word, Excel and other computer programs.

Working Conditions

  • Meeting standards of GMP/SQF/OSHA
  • Able to work safely in loud, automated machine intense areas.
  • Able to work in conditions that may be loud, wet, and/or dusty from airborne particles
  • Able to work in conditions with unregulated/varying temperatures
  • Able to work in conditions where floors may be slippery due to environmental hazards (ex. raw mate ials overflow, splashing of water in sanitation area, etc.)
  • Able to work in conditions where PPE may be required (Respirator, face mask, etc.)
  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, crouching or climbing.
  • Climbing ladders and/or stairs.
  • Comfortable working from a mezzanine with active machinery
  • Flexible schedule to meet business needs
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Operating machinery and/or power tools.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Able to bend, lift, pull, and push
  • Able to drive a forklift.
  • Certification is a plus.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be willing to work in Danbury, CT
  • Must have a reliable vehicle as daily trips between factory, warehouse, and office will be necessary
