Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center DIRECTOR - EMERGENCY in Danville, Kentucky

The Director of Emergency Services at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center (EMRMC) is responsible for the implementation of the vision, mission, philosophy and core values of the Organization and of Ephraim McDowell Health Nursing within defined areas of responsibility as well as for establishing and fulfilling department-specific strategic and operational goals and objectives. Accountable to the Chief Operating Officer/Chief Nursing Officer to maintain 24/7 leadership and supervision of designated departments so that safe, quality, cost-effective and comprehensive services are provided. Directs the nursing practice of professionals and support personnel in accordance with standards of practice as defined by the Kentucky Board of Nursing and in accordance with the Ephraim McDowell Health nursing professional practice model and collaborative interdisciplinary care delivery system. Coordinates nursing care in a manner that promotes shared nursing leadership and collaboration with other disciplines to accomplish patient and family-centered care. Appointed for education, protocol development, and case reviews with EMS. Exhibits the F.I.R.S.T values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service and Trust).

Patient, family members, support person, significant others, physicians, Associates, other healthcare providers, community resource personnel, administrative staff and hospital support services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR EQUIVALENTS:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Required. Master's Degree in Nursing or other healthcare related degree preferred.

Experience: Three to five years’ experience in a director level position required. Leadership experience with certifications/verifications/accreditations with The Joint Commission, Trauma, Stroke, Chest Pain, Pediatric Readiness, etc. preferred. Excellent communication, leadership and clinical skills required.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS:

Current license as an RN in the Commonwealth of Kentucky required. Certification in Basic Life Support (successful completion within three [3] months) ACLS (successful completion within one [1] year), PALS/ENPC (successful completion within one [1] year) and TNCC (successful completion within one [1] year). Annual trauma education required (provided on site). CEN required or successful completion within one year. Nurse Executive Certification preferred.

Salary Range $90,000- $145,000.
